Do you think that being fat can become fashionable enough that people will seek to be fat in order to stay 'in' fashion?

Not at all! Not only because a matter of looks but as a matter of health. I do not think to be "fat" would ever be fashionable and even if it does, I doubt many people will follow through with it.
