Once I served a mission in which I had to shave everyday, and yes, I mean everyday - including holidays, Sundays, etc. It was a burden to my facial hair and sometimes it was quite irritating. In this world shaving is important for work and presentation so getting it (your face) clean is a necessity. Which razor blades do you use? For the women, which one do you use for your legs?
I do not use a razor, I use an electric shaver because it is more convenient and easier on my skin. It does take some time getting used to an electric shaver over a razor, but once you do, you wont want to go back. I use the Norelco brand which has the gel built into the shaver.
Shaving is torture!!! I've tried a number of razors and other "hair removal" techniques over the years. I can't tolerate a razor that has only a single blade -- it cuts me terribly every time. So it has to be a double blade, at least, though now I've seen triple blades on some. I'm currently using the "Venus" razors, and they are comfortable and do a good job.

I wish I could use depilatory creams. That would be so easy! No razor burn!! But alas, they make me break out and in some instances swell up.
I use Gillette Sensor. I like to use Barbasol Shaving Cream, but have run out ~ so I use regular bar soap. Have also used hair conditioner ~ it is slick, easy enough to rinse off, and if you don't get it all off, there is no harm as it is NOT a soap.
