Which antivirus software is best?

After my recent hard drive meltdown, I've been reinstalling all my software.  But I am looking for a different antivirus program.  I was using Norton 2003, but it caused alot of system conflicts on my computer.  So I was wondering what would be a good antivirus software to use, other than Norton.  Anyone that can help me, I would greatly appreciate it.  :)

I just use AVG, it is free and updates are also free! I heard negative things about Norton, it causes lock ups and you can't use your computer if it finds even the slightest problem.

Norton was reccommended to me by a friend, but after using it for a few months, it started giving me nothing but headaches.  It caused alot of system conflicts with some of my other programs and it definitely caused alot of computer crashes.  Right now, I'm using a trial version of McAfee, but I don't like their antivirus program.  It doesn't catch some of the things it should.  Where can I find the program that you are talking about?

Go to: https://www.grisoft.com/ and look for the free version.  I think it is version 6, however if you decided to pay for it I do not think you could go wrong. It is a really good program and no conflicts or crashes.

You know what I was just thinking that I remembered a program you can use to check incoming calls while staying connected, if you do a search on google you might find it, I cannot remember the name.

I know the program you are talking about.  There is actually two that I know of.  One is named Callwave, but I can't remember what the other one is called.  It won't hopefully matter by this time next week, we'll have our own phone line.  When I see the phone company coming, all I'm gonna say is - WOOHOO!  lol
