Come, Come Ye Saints

This lesson is about the history of the hymn 'Come, Come ye Saints' by William Clayton. Surfing the internet about it, I found lots of interesting facts about how this hymn was born and the impact it had in the LDS and non-LDS community.
William Clayton was a musician and also secretary of the Prophet Joseph Smith, after his death Brigham Young called him as the clerk in the Camp of Israel.
He wrote the song as a commemoration of the birth of his son. He left Navoo to travel with the rest of the Saints through Iowa, his youngest wife (he had 4) was pregnant and stayed in Navoo with her parents because she was not going to be able to handle such weather. Later on, he received the good news of the birth of his son and felt inspired to write the song that he called 'All is well'. There are rumours that Brigham Young asked him to write a song to encourage the members but there is no proof of that but there is proof he wrote this song after hearing the good news of the birth of his song, it is recorded in his diaries.

I added to this lesson a map of the trek to Utah so that the members here could get an idea just how difficult it was. Most of those who attended the class were touched by the stories, especially the one where the guy died later in the night after singing 'Come, Come, Ye Saints'.
