Autism & Echolalia

Echolalia

All my children have it bad - Echolalia. You say something to them and they repeat it back. For instance:

Parent - "Do you want the red or black ball?"

Autistic child - "Red or black ball"

Another example:

Parent - "Are you happy today?"

Autistic child
- "Today"

My oldest son had it bad but at 12 he has gotten rid of it. That is the interesting thing about my sons under the spectrum, they seem to go through some kind of metamorphosis of characteristics.
