Toys are Us has filed for bankruptcy liquidation, signaling likely end of the nation’s biggest toy superstore chain. The move means all of the chain’s remaining stores will likely close and all merchandise will be sold off, ending a 70-year run in which generations of kids and their parents shopped for birthdays, holidays or just for fun. The chain, weakened by online and big-box rivals, filed for bankruptcy reorganization last year, but was unable to find a buyer or relieve its massive debt burden. Ref. USAToday.
Too bad for him and the company he created. Maybe hearing the news about the closing was the final pain that sent him away. He did a good job while he was alive.
