It is not just Alabama. However, they are now top of the list! While there are a few schools noted for fine eductions, note the list of what I would call party schools for the most part.

On average, 1 million a year for a educator. If any of these guys actually teaches a class, I would be shocked! So what are they buying with their million dollars? Hopefully, more rearends in seats and a nice tidy profit. Or as the US Government once called them...a surplus!

Apparently, the shooter is a female professor. Her husband has also been arrested:

Amy Bishop, a Harvard University-trained neuroscientist, was taken into custody, and her husband has also been detained, the newspaper reported. Neither have been charged.
Police said three people were killed and three were wounded when the shooter opened fire about 4 p.m. During a biology faculty meeting on the third floor of the Shelby Center for Science and Technology.
The three injured people are being treated at Huntsville Hospital.
A hospital spokesperson confirmed that two men and one woman had been taken there for treatment, with two of those patients in a critical condition.
CBS News affiliate WHNT-TV reported the suspect had been denied tenure at the university and the victims were all faculty members...

Ex-prof gets life in prison for meeting rampage
The jury deliberated for about 20 minutes before convicting Amy Bishop. The former professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville showed no reaction as the verdict was read. She did not speak in court, but her attorney said she has often expressed great remorse for the victims and their families. Ref. Source 7
