By the time you can see them you are within bow range about 50 feet. The trees are spaced in such a way that while you can get glimpses at 60 feet you do not have a clear enough shot until 50 feet away.

Do we recognize what type of humanoid? How hard are they trying to calm Ghost down? Does it sound like a ploy so they can kill him or are they showing respect?

The two with bows clearly show they want to kill him. The one in front looks like they do not want trouble and would rather he leave them in peace. You can not tell type due to cloaks with hoods. They are dark skinned.
