In Game: Felipe replies to Proas, "Proas, I do believe Holly and Haru will need more experience to fight with a blade first you know, Haru said before that he is not good at handling with blades, but at the other hand Holly might have the potential to use it, I will have to go to her to see what I can do about it." After saying that, Felipe goes on walking to where Holly and the others are now.
Holly blinks, "Well, this parchment has a lot of words crossed out of it. The only thing that's not crossed out is 'Magic' if you see here. As for this key, I have no clue. But guys, there's something really big out there. I mean... I saw tracks." She spreads her arms wide apart, "They're bigger than this. There was also a dead guy that was beheaded and acid destroyed nearly everything on him or her except for this dagger in my belt, and this amulet that's around my neck." She sighs, "I don't know but I think it's some sort of a dragon. I have a very bad feeling about this."
She takes the sling, "Thank you kind sir, I haven't had one of these until those bad soldiers took mine." Her eyes lighten at the sight of the blade, "Wait a second... That sigil... That can't be." She pulls out her little holy symbol, "By all the gods in heaven, hell, and the outer gates. It can't be. No way...."
(Out of game: I'm really not sure if there's any actual sigils on the blade but I'll make assumptions, reading the past 150 pages I know what the blade is. As for the dagger, and amulet, I need to properly appraise it to see if they have any value. But I believe that it will be very fun to see what happens next.)
She smiles sadly, "If that is what I think it is, it will be very good to use, but if what's up ahead is ice blue eyes, we might be in for a world of hurt. And even that sword will be nothing more than a toothpick against it." She shrugs, "Oh well, I'd like to talk to a dragon. Father always said they were great intellects but acted like cats way too much and sometimes got really bored."
(Out of game, father probably knew a young brass dragon or a song dragon. Easily the most talkative but some of the weakest of their kinds in good dragons. Still fun, a kender or halfling would probably even out talk one of them into pure boredom.)
(Out of character, Holly could try to disarm a magical lock with her rogue skills and abilities, but at this level there's probably very little chance to succeed. She's obviously not anywhere near Izumi to hear her, she's looking more dumbfounded at the sight of a blade, tracks of a possible dragon nearby, and ecstatic over seeing her sling replaced by a superb replacement item.)
"Anyone know if these things are magical, and if they are, what do they do?" She points again at the amulet and dagger. Edited: HunnyBunny on 7th May, 2013 - 5:20am
In Game:
Matt hands her the sling and the bag half full of small stones for it's use.
The blade held in Felipe's hands is clearly a holy weapon of the blue feathered god Fendrill. The mostly silver looking steal blade had the carving of a feather etched in to its blade and hanging from the handle off small strips of leather where blue feathers.
The blade is large it is a hefty weapon sized beyond what you would think holly could use, standing it on end it would be as tall as her, but when she reaches her hand out to touch it a glint of light shines quickly over the blade in blinding light of holy magic and it is re sized. The halfling lifts the blade out of Felipe's hand the proper size to be welded by one so small as her.
"A...a dragon!? Dragon tracks?" Proas's words are as shaky in tone as they could be, his words stumbling over his lips in a stuttered questioning disbelief.
"Are you positive?" Asked Matt, looking toward the dark passageway with a keen eye.
Elrik looks at holly lifting one arm to scratch his head. "By the world and the Elements in Er-utan's name, I have always hoped to see a dragon before I died. If only to know with my own eyes the rummer of there survival from the wars dark years were true."
Out of Game:
Dragons in the world are so rare its practically unproven that they still exists, the small handful of sightings are hopeful rummer with no tangible prof believed to be fact by most of the world. With the death of over 90% of all dragons ruffly 199 years a go in the fist handful of years of the 100 year long war. Calling this mythological beast "Legendary" And "Practically killed off" Would be a subtle undertone of the truth.
In Game:
Holly can see the where Izumi and yaeth are, they are out on the center stone. But, she is most likely overly distracted buy the weapon in front of her as you thought.
