To Izumi's amazement the box generates something other then cheese on her fist try of bread.
The bread after upstanding closing the box to produce an exchange is now a cold but cooked potato. When she treys a apple halve, a wooden spoon.

As she treys an other chunk of bread, a small peace of chocolate is produced, and with a try of a mostly rotten apple a larger chunk of another type of cheese appears. It quickly becomes evident that an item will no always produce the same exchange form the box.

Izumi hands the chunk of cheese broken in half back to the boys but now has a potato, some chocolate, a wooden spoon, and another apple half she has yet to tinker with.

This items will be of [great] use to the group to produce oddity of supply that are without if only they have items of any kind worth risking in hopes of producing things they need more.

As Izumi does the bread first and the pieces come out a potato and a hunk of chocolate, she looks at them, and produces a 'huh' sound. She tosses Elrik the potato, and Felipe the chocolate.

After getting the spoon then a larger hunk of cheese, she stops before the last piece of apple and says, "I guess it won't all come out the same thing...perhaps it goes size for size or weight for weight. Useful little item, I say."

She then breaks up the cheese and hands equal parts to Felipe, Elrik, and Matthias.

Izumi then proceeds with her new box trick with the last apple slice, then will try the spoon again.

From the box, the apple half produces a small metal can with ribbed sides, a colored sleeve of paper with the words, "Campbell's Soup" printed on the side of it. She looks at it strangely having never seen something of its like before and wondering what's inside it.

The wooden spoon goes in and this time out comes a large flask of oil.

Alexander issues his first genuine laugh in what feels like an eternity at Izumi's response. "Sounds like it would be entertaining to watch. "

He watches interestedly as Izumi exchanges objects for other objects, "Oooh, that'll come in handy."

As the rest of the party continues exchanging items, Alexander leans in close to Matt and whispers, "You should speak to the Cleric soon. No offense, but I get the feeling Meera is watching us through your eyes, and it is not a sensation I enjoy."

Elrik takes the cheese and potato from Izumi, "Thank you." He looks around to make sure everyone has something to eat before eating.

Once we eat we should head out. So we are all up to speed. What do we know.

There is a room full of spiders that we have to take care of what else?

Elrik sees that most everyone is eating, and of the couple that are not. Other than Haru, that is their choice as they have a bag of food on their hip. Haru looks content with forgoing food because of the items over his head. Yet it's easy to tell how he looks at what his mothers found item is producing that his attention is captivated. Whether this is because of the item or the food is any ones guess.
Matt gets up and moves over to by where Elrik is before sitting back down.

Haru speaks up to answer Elriks question, "It's a couple of rooms, like I said. They seem to be connected by small hallways; some thin, some wide. I think it's to keep the bigger spiders out of this area. After about four or so rooms and past ummm... I think it was three doors, there's a really large room. That's as far as I got. For the most part the rooms seemed to be carved into a cave side and had a couple of tunnels I could see going off of it, but the webs were so thick I would not be surprised if there were lots of holes masked by the webs to allow for the spiders to travel through the area. That room looked like a gaping mouth to the mini spiders next. While I don't know if we will see any of the dog sized ones before we get to that room, both times I made it that far I saw at least one if not two large horse sized spiders in that room, so we can expect to have to fight our way past."

Matthias and the others listen to the boy speak. It's clear Haru has swallowed most of his fear as he has seen the groups confidence and overall strength.

Matthias adds a comment after Haru is done speaking, "The book suggested we have to pass the spiders, get to the water, be wary of monsters in the water, or it being black or something, and then we should be safe until the next part of this hell pit reveals itself. How is everyone at swimming? It's possible from the way the book talked about it, that it's like crossing a lake."

Alexander sighs..."I wonder if we could get up the chute that brought me down here. Maybe if we use the Box of Exchange to manufacture climbing utensils? I don't know, just an idea..."

Out of Character:: how long have we been down here? Should we be hitting a sleep stage? What I means really is when do I need to pray for my spells?
