The Game Master says...

Uhura steps away heading up the passageway to give some distance between her and Major, who is now by the dog legged passageway examining the secret door. Major shines his ultraviolet light, finds the mechanism and in the same manner as the last door; hisses are made and a puff of air is felt as some kind of pressurization is normalized from the sides of the wall which can now be clearly seen as a double door that swings. The inside of the doors looks to be of solid metal as clean as the first day it was created. To your surprise there is a cave descending ahead that leads to a bridge and then a continuing cave after it. Uhura's analyzer reads normal.

Meanwhile...

Uhura and Seth are in the room with the tree.

GM: Say what you wish to do now. No actions for Gault until requested.

The Game Master says...

GM: No actions for Seth, so we move on.

Gault remains still in the room opposite to the one with the tree.

Seth says he is feeling more sickly.

Artemis enters the room with the tree. To her surprise the tree is almost fully healed with the underlying wound you created closed up but still apparent because of a slight glow in the area where the damage occurred.

Major appears to find out the next action.

Uhura searches the biological lab carefully. Her analyzer reads the same as when she is in the room with the tree. From short investigation she determines that men in white bio suits were conducting experiments on plant life possibly wild life as well. The experiments must of had some success as short written notes indicate expected results. She cannot access the computer, someone with more expertise will need to get it running first. She does come across something that makes her find hope, a decontamination chamber! After some testing she determines it might work. Her elation can be heard when she tells about the find over the comm.

GM: Seth -2HP. No actions for Gault. Everyone else say what you are doing.

GM: No actions for Artemis so we move on.

Artemis seems to be in a delirious mode and not 'reachable'.

Major does not get any help and drags Gault all the way to the decontamination chamber on his own. By the end of it he is very tired.

Seth simply walks to the decontamination area.

Major follows Uhura's instructions to use the decontamination chamber. Seeing that Gault is unconscious she starts with him. Knowing that this unit has not been tested Uhura hopes her expertise enables it to function properly.

GM: I need a roll vs Biology for Uhura. You need at least a 10 and have a +2 to your roll. A fail will not be good for Gault. Based on that I need to know if Seth will go next. Say what you wish to do now.

Page 21 RPG Biowarfare Jungle Earth Future

The Game Master says...

Major, now Uhura's lab assistant, follows her instructions as he puts Gault in the chamber. Uhura starts up the machine and watches as it starts to sound off whirls and hums. Indicators on the machine show that too much pressure is being built up. You can see Gault's skin rise and fall about quarter of an inch as the gel-like substance starts to move around his body and face. The machine suddenly stops and Gault does too. Vitals read that he is dead - an already very damaged man could not stand the immense pressure placed on his body.

Uhura rushes over not caring if she is contaminated or not, opens the chamber and checks to see if she can get Gault up using her first aid kit but nothing works.

GM: Gault is out of the game.

Artemis suddenly shows up and immediately volunteers to go in the chamber despite seeing Gault's predicament.

Seth waits in line also seemingly unaware of the serious risk involved.

GM: Uhura should roll vs Soul to see if she was contaminated in the process of helping Gault. Uhura should also roll vs Biology to see if she can help Artemis this time. The four remaining Players can say what they wish to do.

The Game Master says...

The chamber, now empty of its last victim, is now occupied by Artemis who puts her fate in Uhura's hands. Uhura starts up the machine after adjusting a few settings. Artemis feels her skin boiling as her paws secret the gel-like substance. At one point she feels to vomit and coughs up a blob of the substance. As it all falls to the ground it seems to sizzle and become gaseous as it disintegrates. Artemis is decontaminated, but her skin and some bodily functions still remain damaged from having the foreign object in her body. She also seems more aware and detoxed from whatever native drug that circulated her body earlier.

Seth, in the same manner as Artemis, goes in the chamber. Uhura, using the same setting, starts the machine and the same result happens for Seth.

Uhura then checks herself and realizes that she has not been immune and is also slightly contaminated.

GM: Artemis and Seth can restore full hit points but BOTH permanently have one HP less than before that cannot be recovered. Say what you wish to do now.

GM: Its time and no action for Seth so we move on.

After instructing Major how to work the machine Uhura gets in to allow him to try and decontaminate her.

GM: At this point I will roll against Mind for Major via Inhouse Dice Roll and he got a 2!

Major followed the instructions to the letter and Uhura comes out clean which for some odd reason excites Seth to the degree that he jumps for joy and lands awkwardly on some shared glass.

GM: Seth -1 HP. Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Artemis aides Seth after his accident. Seth takes some items from Gault's backpack. Artemis begins looking for something to 'clean up' but there really isn't an effective tool available.

Major waits for everyone to exit and then closes the 'door' - it once again take the form of a temple wall.

Major and Uhura start their walk to the cave entrance via the dog legged passageway; using their equipment, Seth and Artemis follow. Lights and analyzers do not reveal anything out of the ordinary but you do hear the sound of rushing water ahead.

Moving ahead you come to a 20' break in the passageway. There is an old rope bridge that is held by spikes driven into the rocky surface of the mountain.The rope appears to be strong enough to support your weight. The primitive bridge crosses over a 40' drop where rough water violently makes it way from a cross section of the mountain.

Ahead the passageway continues and you can tell it leads to daylight about 100' further.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

The mystery of the native's temple is now behind you as Artemis volunteers to go first across the bridge. Taking her time and being cautious has paid off as she gets to the other side safely.

Seth and Uhura follow and with advice from the now experienced Artemis they likewise cross without incident.

Major ends the bridge crossing without any fanfare and you all move on.

As Uhura checks her analyzer nothing amiss is signaled, in fact, the closer you get to the end of the cave the more normal are the readings.

At the mouth of the cave it is now clear where you have come from and what is ahead. You came through the top part of a mountain and below is a very large valley. You can see the river you must cross about a mile away and a path that you must take to get to it. You start descending and eventually reach flat ground. The jungle is thick but there is a distinct path to take as it would seem it is traversed frequently. Following the path you come to the river you must cross to continue your journey. Looking back at the mountain you descended you can see a large waterfall comes from it and empties into the rough flowing river that is blocking your progression. A little up river you can see some natives doing some fishing. They have with them some long canoes.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
