Future Earth - Jungle Biowarfare RPG - Page 8

The Game Master says...

Seth and Uhura easily convince the girls to come out of the water and head back to where you first met them. As they do so in a haphazard manner you begin to realize that the girls really have 'no mind of their own' and are just acting on suggested behavior.

Meanwhile...

The rest of you look for a place to dispose of Lars' body. Being that you are on a mountain there are many short cliffs for which you can throw the body, however because it is so densely covered by the green of the jungle you cannot simply expect the body to fall out of sight from the trail as it will likely be propped up by the bushes below in plain view until it decomposes.

The Game Master says...

Finding vines is not much of an issue in a tropical jungle. You use some to tie the body of Lars and lower it down. Major then uses another set of vines to lower himself down to guide the body passed the dense jungle below.

GM: D20 roll against Body for Major. Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

Major lowers the body of Lars as well as all his equipment into a place that is well hidden from the trail. Major then climbs back up and all of you continue towards C3 before the rather unusual interruption.

After about 30 minutes you come to a dead end in the trail. Everything is jungle all around you. You are unsure if the trail ends because there is no more human accessible points or that it hasn't been maintained / trafficked to that point. There is a faint odor of fruits, and urine around. As you examine the area you hear movement from some trees above but you do not see anything.

As you keep watch Uhura recalls what was said about the monkeys in the region.

They might be Ka'Apor capuchin monkeys, a long limbed monkey that moves very fast and rathers secluded undisturbed parts of the jungle. They are known to be in packs of 5-40 and are very territorial to the point that they will kill one of their own to preserve domination.

Uhura also recalls that it could be the...

Golden lion tamarin monkeys which is more rare but tend to eat a lot fruit. They can be predatory but have been known to use stealth and cover to protect themselves. They also tend to keep on the move to not build up a scent.

The Game Master says...

Major and Seth feel something relatively soft and glue-like land on their faces / head. They rub it off and smell - poop! This makes you angry. They catch a glimpse of a couple of monkeys from above throwing it at them. The monkeys start making their alarming sounds which echos through the jungle alerting other monkeys who you can hear return a sound from all around you.

The Game Master says...

GM: I was confused by Play By Post's action because you put what Nathan will do. Since you cannot say what another Character will do I will assume you meant Major.

Major fires shots in the air and he can hear and see the monkeys (About 4-5) scamper through the trees but the howls and cries they make do not cease in fact it gets louder.

Most of you save for Seth begin to retreat not wanting to have direct conflict with the monkeys. Seth remains to see what happens as his compatriots disappear back into the jungle.

GM: Say what you wish to do now. Ensure to erase the 4 slugs.

The Game Master says...

You decide pressing head on into the monkey's domain is not favorable so you look for alternative routes. The best you come up with is to leave the trail, which came to an abrupt end in any case and make your way through the thick jungle.

While considering this you venture back to the spring. The refreshing mist that it gives makes you relax and you decide to rest there for a bit.

Meanwhile...

Nathan goes forward and comes across the two couples that were there before. They are still in their 'outer spaced' minds as one of the girls asks if you like monkeys and if you are part of the group of strange people that went into the jungle?

The Game Master says...

Nathan and Uhura, who joins in, inquire about the monkeys and the paths around them from the girls they met earlier. They don't give you much information except to say,

"Aren't they cool? You will see them that way?"

They point in the same direction you came from. You begin to wonder how such air headed people could have survived the monkeys.

Meanwhile...

The rest are seemingly not interested in extra talk with the 'stoners' and begin to look for an exit to your current location but none is readily apparent save for the obvious one which goes back to your starting point.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
