Socialist America - Page 8

People of America voted for change, they voted for someone to regulate their passions, their inability to govern their own pockets, so that is what Pres. Obama is doing for 'us' based on the proven socialist structure. You all should be thanking Pres. Obama for saving us from ourselves.

Actually, less than 25% of the adults in the United States voted for Mr. Obama. About the same number voted against him. About 50% apparently don't actually care what happens to them.

Socialist America History & Civil Business Politics

The people of American voted against GWB. They did not vote to be socialist or to embrace socialism or to have the government ease their decision making with socialism. While he did get a majority of the vote, he pulled out a 7% victory. This is not the affirmation to dump all that is good with America. Get a 18% victory like Reagan had and then we can talk. Clinton pulled out a bigger victory than this and it didn't mean that we had to follow Chavez.

I am sure that in Australia and its love of all that is GWB, you see the error of such a comment...but trolling does have its perks.

The American people didn't not vote to regulate our passions (quite to the contrary...Obama ran on a platform of pure passion and hope). Any politician that would run on a platform of regulating people would fail in America...any...doesn't matter how well you read a teleprompter. If you want to talk about re-regulating the mortgage lenders, then Americans were all ears. Proposing a budget that tacks on another Trillion to the national debt of 11 trillion as well as saying that we will close the deficit (that is just the difference in the yearly tax take versus the expenditures and is not to be confused with reducing the national debt) is double-speak if every such a word were uttered. American's voted for Change and Hope to bring us back to the its former glory where we can all reach what was the American dream and a country where your children could possibly have a better standard of living than you did...that was what they voted for and it wasnt socialist back then either.

As for proven socialist structure, I am deeply confused...

Socialism has been moving more towards capitalism as time moves on. France claimed to be the most government controlled capitalist country for years. England has its fair share of government control within its capitalistic government. Russia took their Socialist/Communist government and have woven capitalism into it. N.Korea..without a doubt one of the most communistic/socialist regimes ever...has been "experimenting" with capitalism. Experimenting. China has been experimenting too with capitalism...try to take away their WalMart's and McDonalds now. That would be like the experimentation that Bill Clinton did with pot..we all know he didnt inhale! Yeah right.

If anything, it is socialism that is using the proven capitalist system.

Socialist programs have crept into the American government, but it is up to the vigilance of "the people" to make sure that no tyranny forms.

Actually, I need to thank your trolling. I used to think that...well...we will have to pay for it one way or another, so let the government start buying out these things. People will still have jobs. They can stay in homes that they cant afford. The businesses will be allowed to live and pay future perverters of business for their ineptitude. It will allow the same governmental idiots that created the mess the opportunity to fix their own neglect and greed. However, I have seen the total error of my way. It isnt possible to give additional power to the Federal government without corrupting it. Animal Farm was SOOO right.

We should absolutely let these businesses fail, just stick to the FDIC to protect the money. We should fire all the politicians that were in on the deregulation and re-regulation that forced banks to make loans to people that couldnt afford too at the earliest electoral opportunity. We should immediately remove the regulations that forced this collapse of the banking industry...YES...the REGULATIONS (read it...government interference) that forced this to occur. We should dump tea in the rivers and ask where the money is going. We should not allow our government to tell us that they will account for each dime spent ... Sometime in the middle of next year (that is unacceptable). The Federal Government shouldnt be firing CEO's.

It is during times like these we need to hold on to some belief or premise. Americans do not like the idea of socialsim. Most of us dont even like to think it. Churchill said what Americans FEEL..

QUOTE
a socialist policy is abhorrent to the British ideas of freedom. Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the object worship of the state. It will prescribe for every one where they are to work, what they are to work at, where they may go and what they may say. Socialism is an attack on the right to breathe freely. No socialist system can be established without a political police. They would have to fall back on some form of Gestapo, no doubt very humanely directed in the first instance.[

So give me government "I Can Believe In". That is a government that protects the American Dream as our current president has said and it doesnt involved saving me from me. It means saving me from them and their every 20 year screw ups and that means less power. I means saving the future generations from the over indulgences of this one. It means letting the people's voice be heard and not hearing the governments voice through endless executive laws passed under the table, otherwise we should be deciding if we are Hermanos de Venezuela instead of the United States of America. It means a government that understands that 11 trillion dollars is a lot of money...too much money to owe to a foreign land and starts to figure out how to get out from under it not just talk about how to decrease its rapid yearly increase.

Stop me...I am channeling Newt!

Just because we all want a government that we can believe in does not mean that we are going to get it with the current administration. I think on the same note that while only 30-40% of the people vote in a given election means that many of the people are not yet passionate about what is going on in this nation. I think I can assure most anyone that you make a major change in this country and try to bring in something that does go against the people and they will voice their disapproval. I would not be surprised to see the people flock more and more to the tea parties if our current government does not give us some answers soon.

Socialism - Climate Bill

The great thing about socialism is all the savings the taxpayer reaps due to the government's ability to run things efficiently, openly and honestly. That's why people were excited when Obama announced he would raise $650 billion in tax credits for middle class Americans everywhere. Then reality hits. How much of the tax credit will middle America see? Ref. Source 3

Socialism in Action

What happens when a country loses its "can do" spirit and replaces it with a 'what can you do for me?' attitude? This happens: people start depending on government for free stuff. If you don't think the incentive absent mentality of socialism is pervasive in America, then you need to watch this video. Glenn shows what happened in Detroit and New York when people heard government was handing out checks. Are the days of Americans picking themselves up by the bootstraps over? Ref. Source 4

Nine Myths about Socialism in the US
By Bill Quigley

Glenn Beck and other far right multi-millionaires are claiming that the US is hot on the path towards socialism. Part of their claim is that the US is much more generous and supportive of our working and poor people than other countries. People may wish it was so, but it is not. Ref. Source 9
