[medieval] Cleaning The Land - Page 2

The Game Master says...

Kiana continues,

"Good morning. You look as if you've had a busy night. My comrades and I were wondering if there is anything akin to food or water in these parts? Shelter of a cave or such would also be favorable."

The man continues to walk in the same direction he was originally heading while twisting his waist so that his upper body gives you just enough audience while saying,

"These parts are full of clear streams a plenty, but the further thou travel across the horizon the further my knowledge becomes ignorant."

He then attempts to salute you off as Kiana asks for information concerning bad characters to the South to which he replies,

"I be sure of that, the South is bad..."

He then continues on his journey with an attitude of not wanting to know more of your interests. You watch him walk off.

Land Cleaning medieval

The Game Master says...

You continue on your journey after bidding farewell to the stranger. The day is holding up well and despite the sun causing your tongue to thirst the water in your skin you are pleased to come across a fairly nice clearing that is near to a clear river and some trees. Were you not on a mission you may have thought it an excellent place to ponder life while eating a leg of lamb. You see the mountains in the distance. It will be awhile yet before you get there, in fact you wonder if night might reach you first, but it is only noon.

The Game Master says...

You lead the horses to the river to see if the horses drink, and they do. The river itself is not very deep, maybe a foot or so, it seems that it is not at its' full capacity as you view the moss filed rocks on either side. However, watching he horses drink makes you feel comfortable enough to refill your skins.

Ice then says,

"Boy, I am thirsty as she takes a long drink from one of her skins of water, I am going to refill this skin with water for later. Hungry too! Perhaps we should catch some fish while we are here. We can use my extra backpack like a net."

Kiana watches with interest at such an unusual idea. No one has fished before and the stream has but small fish and you stand there in the water hoping to catch fish with a backpack but all you get are tadpoles and fish fit for a glass bowl.

As fate would have it the wind starts to blow, the drizzle comes and the day seems as though it will turn bleak. You start to ponder what you brought to keep you dry.

Land Cleaning medieval

The Game Master says...

First one heavy droplet falls, then another and another and soon the rain is coming in its' fury. You are forced to look for a place to shelter, but where? You realize the folly now of delaying here for so long. Perhaps, had you continued you would have missed this down pour. Nevertheless you cannot worry about that now as you watch to see what from your equipment may spoil or damage from being soaked.

[medieval] Cleaning The Land

The Game Master says...

As the rain pours in drones of drops everyone suddenly has an inclination to eat from their rations. You watch yourselves scoff down the dry biscuit that seems to be getting soggy from the water all around you. With an even more wondrous action Ice jumps on the wagon and starts to move off while saying,

"Come on we need to find a cave or something for shelter."

Everyone quickly boards the wagon and you are once again on your way although wet and somewhat dismayed. You press on to the south but there seems to be no letting up of the rain. You see a nearby forest that may give you some ease and you wonder if you should not pursue ir as the wagon is sinking into the water filled ground now being softened into mud.

The rain seems to be not merciful in the least as you venture under the trees of the nearby forest. You stand there a bit irritated and a bit cold... not a good sign as you have heard stories of easily becoming sick this way. You look around and see nothing unusual, at least you hope there is nothing unusual around to look at you.

The Game Master says...

Ice comes up with a plan to take everyone's cloaks and tie them together for use as a canopy. She then uses her 50' rope to tie the cloak canopy to surrounding trees. With the tarp over the party they unhitch the horses and tie them to surrounding trees and push the wagon under the canopy. They then get into the wagon so they are not standing in the mud.

Kiana hoped to be able to create a map of their movements, but seeing as she is not a navigator nor is it simply following a tunnel and then drawing as is in a dungeon she realizes it is not possible. You feel certain that you are half way between the Village and the South Mountains, but this is a guess based on what you saw before everything became grey.

After about one half of a sun crossing, the rain begins to subside. Around you the ground is wet and you are all but dry. Some of you start to shiver and you wonder if it may not be wise to be warm and dry before continuing on.

GM: Say what you will do now. Time - 2:00pm
