Ok, I decided not to be cheap and just play the game how it needs to be played. So with 25 additional GPs, this is what I buy:

I still haven't increased the rations amount. Last time I had two rations. Hopefully four will be enough. I also like the diamond formation, but we need to add Nighthawk in there.

Sorry, I forgot about Joe. I think we should place him next to Althea. Or, since we have an even number, maybe it makes more sense to travel in two columns. This way we are each side by side. That probably makes the most sense and then have an order established for when we can't fit side by side. What do you all think about that?
Once Xander posts his purchases, I will put together a complete list of what I plan to post in party order. Then I will wait for everyone to reply that I have not forgotten any equipment or any people and that we are all in agreement. Then I will post in party order.
So, Xander, we are waiting on your to decide what you want to buy.

It would be helpful if Nighthawk and FarSeer would post what he purchased as part of creating his character so that we have a list of all equipment as existing at the beginning of the scenario. I like to keep a text file to refer to. I realize it will also be listed in Party Stats, but sometimes that isn't updated immediately.
Now for formation:
Unless I hear otherwise, I will post this:
Kron and Mud in front
Althea and Joe next
Daphne and Ice in the rear
When we go single file it would be Kron, Mud, Althea, Joe, Daphne and Ice.
Now, the only change I see maybe making is putting Ice in the lead and Kron in the rear. I put Kron up front because I think his light horse might be able to get out of trouble more easily than my heavy horse, but I am willing to make the change if others think it better the other way. Just let me know.
I also have me as party leader and Xander as second leader. Is that correct?
Is there anything else I need before we post in party order?
How about these questions:
Who will negotiate for the party:
When in an open field what will be your formation: I think that is the two columns side by side.
When in camp who will stay awake, 1st, 2nd, etc:
In a dangerous situation who will disarm traps: I think Althea because she is a thief?
Who will react first to attack: I think this depends upon how the attack happens. From the front, Kron, from the rear Ice.
If the leader becomes inactive in the forum who will take over: Xander
How long does the leader have to be inactive on the forum before someone takes over: 24 hours. (don't wait 24 hours to start discussing though - everyone should still be posting in camp. Then if I don't also post in camp second leader should post.) Barring an emergency, I will not be inactive without notifying everyone first. Then the 24 hour wait will not be necessary.

The plan sounds good to me. Y'all work out the best schedule for watchkeeping. With 6 people, that only means about 1 1/2 hour watches through the night.

For watches, I suggest two at a time. Last time mud fell asleep on watch because he has such low soul. That is how we lost everything. So, I would match highest soul with lowest soul for staying on watch.
So I propose the following:
Daphne 10 with Mud 5
Althea 9 with Kron 7
Ice 8 with Joe 8
I think this might be the best order to go in as well. This way, Mud is in bed before it is too late.

I agree with watching in groups of 2. It is good that we have an equal mixture of folks with low and high soul, as this really was the reason for our demise in the last quest. As for the questions posed earlier by Ice, here are my votes:
Who will negotiate for the party:Either the Thief or the one with the most soul. I would say Daphne, since she has the most soul
In a dangerous situation who will disarm traps: I agree with Althea
Who will react first to attack: From the front, Kron, from the rear Ice. Agree
If the leader becomes inactive in the forum who will take over: Xander Agree
