Michael Schiavo Attacks Pro-Life Advocates, Says Terri Should Have Died Sooner
Ref. https://www.lifenews.com/bio1482.html

Philadelphia, PA (LifeNews.com) -- Michael Schiavo told a bioethics conference at the University of Pennsylvania that he should have pressed for his former wife Terri's euthanasia death sooner than he did. He also attacked pro-life advocates who he says have constantly attacked him and his character. Michael told those at the conference that bioethicists, church leaders and other have no right to intervene in a familial dispute about someone's lifesaving medical treatment. He said he regretted not speaking out in favor of euthanizing her sooner.

Schiavo Terri

This is such a tragic case, and was highlighted so in the UK news and media, there does seem to be more to the history of this case though than has actually come to light.
My heart goes out to Terri's grieving parents and family.
There are occasions when Parents don't like their daughter-in-laws/son-in-laws, but would it really be so natural to believe the worst in this man, that he could have been abusing their daughter, if there wasn't anything in it?
This is what I would be asking, Why could they be so easily believing that he could harm their Daughter, if he really were the caring Husband that he would like you to believe?

Politicians Still Wrong on Terri Schiavo Case Two Years Later

by Bobby Schindler
Presidential candidate and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney recently stated, "My view was a case like this would normally be left in the hands of a court." Romney was referring to the attempt by Congress to help save the life of my sister, Terri Schiavo. He mistakenly assumed passing the buck on this issue would gain him political capital. He could not be more wrong, morally or politically. Thomas Jefferson said, "The care of human life and happiness, and not their destruction, is the first and only object of good government." Sadly, many of our politicians have abandoned this basic principle, and in so doing have abdicated their most crucial role as public servants. But not all of the blame lies with them. Romney's comments and similar remarks made by other politicians about Terri's situation have, in my opinion, been prejudiced by a media that have oversimplified what Congress did by spinning it as "meddling in a private family affair." In reality, Congress enacted a law to afford my sister's constitutional and statutory civil rights claims to be heard in federal court. This law already exists for every convicted murderer on death row. If monsters like Ted Bundy or Scott Peterson are afforded this right after their cases have gone through the state court system, why shouldn't an innocent disabled woman be given that same chance before she is cruelly starved and dehydrated to death? Congress was not only justified in getting involved, I believe it was their duty.

This is just a slam against Mitt Romney, in my opinion. He didn't kill that woman, or refuse her food and water - her husband did that. Unfortunately, this could be the *one comment* that Mr. Romney will be remembered for after he loses the GOP candidacy.

Terri Schiavo's Family Continues Effort to Block Jack Kevorkian UF Speech

Gainesville, FL (LifeNews.com) -- The family of Terri Schiavo is continuing its efforts to block a speech by Jack Kevorkian scheduled for the middle of next month. The speech would be the first for the former assisted suicide crusader following his release from prison for killing a disabled man and showing the death on national television. Kevorkian would speak to students at the University of Florida on October 11 and receive $50,000 for the talk, as long as his parole officers approve the trip. The family of Terri Schiavo has been leading an effort to stop the speech by gathering petitions from concerned citizens so Kevorkian doesn't get a platform in their home state. They don't want the former pathologist telling students that people with disabilities should be killed, like their sister, rather than receiving appropriate medical treatment or rehabilitative care. Bobby Schindler, Terri's brother, told LifeNews.com, "We have collected thousands of petitions (and they are still coming in) to deliver to the Office of the President of the University of Florida." "We're demanding the University rescind its offer to pay $50,000 for Kevorkian to address the students," he added.

Fox's Family Guy Engages in Despicable Attack on Terri Schiavo, Her Family
by Colleen Raezler

Seth MacFarlane marked the five-year-anniversary of Terri Schiavo's court-ordered death by staging a preschool musical about it in his crass FOX cartoon, "Family Guy."

MacFarlane denied Schiavo human dignity in the March 21 episode by referring to her in lyrics sung by cartoon preschoolers as "the most expensive plant you'll ever see" and a "vegetable," and noted "her mashed potato brains."

The child who played the role of Schiavo's husband, Michael, ultimately concluded, "There's only one solution, it's in the Constitution, we've got to pull the plug."

Schiavo died on March 31, 2005, after her parents fought numerous legal battles, appealing to the United States Congress and Supreme Court, to keep her alive, against the wishes of her husband.

A chorus representing pro-life protesters sang in the show, "Terri Schaivo is kind of alive-oh. What a lively little bugger ... Terri Schiavo is kind of alive-oh, the most expensive plant you'll ever see." A "doctor" sang, "Maybe we should just unplug her." Ref. Source 4
