NASCAR

My relatives in Georgia and North Carolina are all into Nascar. To them, its a lifestyle not a sport. I have browsed this site and find it very informative for us non-nascar watchers. Don't get me wrong, I like watching the big races. But I'm usually at work and the sound is down on the TV so I don't know allot of the terminology. Great site if you want to fit in around Nascar fans, you just need to learn the drivers on your own.

NASCAR 101 Reviews Consumer & Travel Family Culture

I live in Clint Bowyer's home town, and NASCAR fever is pretty high here, even for those who aren't a big fan of Bowyer.

I am NASCAR illiterate, so the site is perfect for me. Although I'm more interested in horse racing than cars, it's good to at least know what people are talking about.

NASCAR 2010 in Las Vegas is going to pull in some $100 million for the region. That's needed employment and money for those struggling in the US. Also, this is the 45th Anniversary of the GP350 and 427 Cobra.

NASCAR

What I don't understand is why NASCAR, which has cars, or trucks, all drive in the same direction, turning all the same direction, is SO popular in America, but Rally races, which is off-track, drive in all different directions, not just one turn the same time ALL the time, is NOT popular, in America. I would think that Rally races, or any other driving sport, that has different turns, would be more fun to watch then watching cars turn the same direction all the time.

I'm not a NASCAR expert but like most things that are popular (that should not be like junk food) it all comes down to very good marketing. NASCAR probably invests more money to ensure market saturation.

For Earnhardt, closing out a win can't be easy (PA SportsTicker)

Only Earnhardt knows what was going through his mind with that long-overdue victory finally in sight. All he's heard for three years is how NASCAR's success depends on him, and if Earnhardt was winning again, then just maybe the television ratings and attendance problems would be solved.
