I grew up in Wyoming. The Teton mountains and Yellowstone Park make the norhern area beautiful. The southern part of the state is flat, dry and windy. It gets very cold in the winter. I remember one year, it hit 40 degrees below zero. Wyoming was the first state to give women the vote. Except Alaska, Wyoming has the least number of people per square mile, and I've heard many a cowboy say they want to keep it that way. Wyoming has a very low crime rate, I think it's 5th lowest in the nation. I remember when I moved out of the state, my friends would get frustrated at my not remembering to lock my house and car doors. After a couple of hard lessons, I learned to. For the fisherman or hunter it's a paradise, if you can get past the locals. The motto on the license plate is 'Welcome to Wonderful Wyoming' but I think the secret motto is 'Stay Out!'
