Some parts of the movie that you can over analyze

Glitches?

Matrix

In this thread we can discuss parts of the movie that 'do not add up'. In other words, it just does not flow. Here are some of mine to start off...

Matrix Reloaded:

1. The Frenchman's vamp / werewolf (assuming that is what they are because of Persephone's comment about the silver bullets) attacks Neo in the Marble Hall scene, Neo hits him and he flies into a statue and dies instantly? Huh? Okay, so now you are saying, so what is the big deal? Well in the same scene people are being pounced by Neo and thrown into all kinds of things and they do not die instantly.

2. Same scene, if Neo can 'will' things to him as in the weapons that he used when he realized he was bleeding, then why not call other things to aid him in battle. For instance, why did he not call for the sword too rather than go take it off the wall?

3. Why would Neo bleed anyway? Is it that just for a sec he thought the knife would cut him?

4. If Neo has so much power to fly then why doesn't he use this power similar to Superman? For instance, Superman would not come into a room with Kung Fu kicks if there were a lot of people (Re: The Smith scene), his likely method would be to cause some sort of whirlwind and blow them away by spinning really fast or something similar. Perhaps Neo could have done it but his imagination did not reach there?

5. If you could simply download a program into your mind about anything, then why not fill your head with so much that you become unstoppable?

6. Neo can stop bullets, but it seems to work only when he makes a concious effort to stop them, or in other words - he knows someone is firing at him. So, why has there been no sniper fire? Is it that he is too fast? nah, there were many scenes where he was standing still long enough.

What are some of the glitches you have found?

Glitches

Matrix

I have to watch the movies in detail a couple times more to come up with a comparative list of my own, but I wanted to comment on one of the 'glitches' that were brought up in the previous post:

The concept of stopping bullets vs being impenetrable or unstoppable by bullets are two different things. When he knows bullets are coming at him, then yes, he can make the effort to stop the bullets mid-air. However, the question is whether bullets, even if he did not stop them, would even hurt or kill Neo in the Matrix. I am of the belief that he could not be killed at all while in the Matrix. The fact I use to validate this is the last scene in Matrix 1 when he is shot point blank multiple times by Mr. Smith.
At that point in time, do we really believe that he believed he could evade death in the Matrix. But he did! And at point blank range for that matter. It was only till then did he realize that he was The One. So even if there was sniper fire that did hit him, I don't think it would have mattered, he would have lived through it. In my opinion, of course.

Good points, but if he was simply impenetrable then the role of Trinity was mainly for desire? To keep on keeping on doing it? Also, I think Neo could be killed or become useless if he did not have the element of 'love'. It is love that is the driving force.

Neo was a test program, designed to be able to love, and to use this love, for Trinity and for the people of Zion, to make the Matrix a better place to live in. For him to die would defeat the purpose of the Architect. The purpose of Trinity was to give Neo something to love.

It is interesting that you say he is a program. We would have to consider if programs are capable of existence in Zion, unless humans become programmed or Zion itself is a Matrix in itself. Actually, Smith showed a 'human' could be programmed or 'taken over'.

Yes, the way I see it, Neo isn't unstoppable. He has powers to heal himself but not to not get hurt in the first place. For that to happen, Neo would constantly have to focus on the thought that this is just the matrix and nothing can hurt him. It would be much more productive to focus on the battle, and only once he gets hurt to heal himself.

The glitch for me was the CGI effects when Neo was fighting all those Smiths in the park. I know that it was going to have to be computerized, but did it have to be so obvious? Maybe not what this thread was started for, but definitely a glitch in my opinion.

Matrix

A part of Revolutions that I am still trying to figure out may not be so much as a glitch, but it can be well over-analyzed. When Neo and Trinity were flying through the Machine City, and all these Sentinels and other machines were being blown to bits, a Sentinel came right up to the ship and almost seemed to be absorbed by Neo. That is where he lets go of Trinity and she grabs his hand and say 'Gotcha'. I can buy the fact that he had some intrinsic power over the machines, but what was that scene all about?
