Yes getting a character to demigod status is something that everyone wants to achieve. Once you get there it opens up a whole new world of play. I am one who enjoys a little interaction with the gods when I have players in the game.

It is you and the DM alone. You and him together work out how your character will transform and the roll of the dice helps. Having good rolls helps a lot.
