WHOOPING COUGH SURGES
The number of whooping cough cases so far this year in Salt Lake County is more than three times that of last year. But at least the increase seems to be slowing a bit, says Salt Lake Valley Health Department spokeswoman Pamela Davenport.
My children have had their boughts with whooping cough in the past. It wasn't really bad in my older children, but the baby had a bad problem with it. She got it when she was under a month old and it caused breathing problems since she was so young. Unfortunately, she was in the hospital still and thus caught it from being at the hospital. It always sounds much worse than it is, especially in the older ones.
