The Obama administration believes Ukraine did not have the capability in the region -- let alone the motivation -- to shoot down the Malaysia Airlines plane, a U.S. Official told CNN's Jake Tapper.

The Boeing 777 with 298 people aboard fell from the sky near the town of Torez in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine, officials said. A top Ukrainian official said the plane, which was on the way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur, was flying at about 33,000 feet when the missile hit. Ref. CNN

This was not a shoulder launched rocket. This was a sophisticated Surface to Air Missle. This had to come from Russia. I am not saying Russians shot the plane down, but they definitely provided the hardware to someone that did it. The only thing I can say is ... Why on earth would a commercial airliner plot a course over a war zone. If this conversation is true, they were hoping to have shot down a spy plane.

Exactly, I would not only look at Russia or the rebels but who the pilots were, even the navigator who would have plotted the course.

The full list of the passengers on downed Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 will be released today, the Malaysian transport minister said.

The minister said he and other officials would travel to Kiev to support the Ukrainian authorities in their investigation and ensure the bodies of the dead are retrieved.

"Since the plane went down, the remains of 298 people lie uncovered; citizens of 11 nations, none of whom are involved in the conflicts in eastern Ukraine, cannot be laid to rest," He said. Ref. CNN

If OJ Simpson can get off due to tampered evidence, there is NO way that a evidence backed conclusion of guilt is going to be found here. In all likelihood, the people that are being held responsible for securing the site are potentially connected to the downing. Honestly, the intercepted phone conversation is about all I need for this. It was a accident. The missile in all likelihood was Russian. Actual Russians didn't fire the weapon. The people that fired the weapon thought that the plane was a spy plane from the Ukrainian government. The airliner shouldnt have been where it was...no airliner should. This is not the kind of publicity/notoriety that Putin wants...I would guess the person in charge on the ground that green-lit this isn't have a good day. God bless those that lost their lives.
