That's a difficult situation to be in, and most of us can read this article and learn a few things. Number one, be prepared to accept less money than you were making from a job you've been laid off from. With the economy as fragile and volatile as it is, everyone should be prepared to be out of work and for the possibility of a long stretch of unemployment. Lucky for most Americans, unemployment benefits really help in these situations. I can't imagine what some of us would do without that!
