Yes the weather has been interesting of late here. Have the state has been hit by damaging winds or tornados so far in the past two weeks. One town was almost wiped off the map. Most of the really bad weather has been going around me but I think I am due and we have strong storms coming in tonight and thursday.
I have now sat down and made another goal for myself. I want to have 10,000 posts on this board by the 1st of Feb. 2009. I was going to say 12,000 but I want to see if the 10,000 is attainable for me by the end of one year here.
I do want to put a shout out to all of you on here. It is the discussions and friendship I find here that keeps me coming back and enjoying it here. Thank you all for being here and discussing things with me. Your the ones making my goals achievable.

I had thought we were gonna go a whole 24 hours without any rain. About 430 this morning it started to rain. It was done by 530 so it was not a long rain event. It was not a hard rain either. Then again we did not need any more rain. The ground water table is pretty high now and the ground is saturated. Any rain we get runs right off into the swollen creeks, rivers and lakes. They are talking about nice sunny skies today and so far that is holding true. If the forecast is right we will not see any storms till wednesday. That is going to help a lot. Northern Iowa and western Iowa is supposed to get some rain tonight so it is not going to help the two major rivers that flow through here. The good news is the local small streams will go down some and be in their banks a little farther before the next rains. This will help us clean up some and sandbag some more. It is sooo much easier sandbagging in the sun than in the pouring rain.
