Thanks for the well wishes. My house is on top of a hill so I will not flood out. IT will be interesting to get to and from work if this keeps up. I took some pictures of the main river last night. I will try to get them up on my Flickr site. This way you can all see how high the water was. I plan to try to get some more today if I can get back to the same area.
I have taken pictures the last couple days of some of the flooding that is occurring here in my state. I have posted them on my Flickr account. It can be found in flickr by looking for kntoran91 I have a set called flood or 2008 there. As I take more pictures in the following days I will place them there. If any want to see what it looks like there your welcome to take a look and comments are welcome.
I have to get the other picts of the bird houses from the 10th The sad thing is those bird houses sit on 10' poles attached to a concrete railing on the rivers edge. The pictures from the 10th it was only half way up those poles. I had planned to show just how much it rose in 24 hours with the bird houses.
I will be down there again tonight to get more pictures of the area if I can still get there. More roads have closed over night. One is another main route from the east to get to my work. Pretty soon I may need a boat to get to work.
I have finally heard some good news. We may be past the worse of the flooding for now. They just announced that the rivers have reached their peak flood stage and now may be slowly falling. I do hope that this is the case. I know last I checked the flood stage on the big lake north of us was just over a foot below the record flood stage set back in 1993. Hopefully that will mean things will start to get back to normal slowly around here. Once the rivers get back into their banks we can start to clean up.
