Yes the power of moving water is very impressive, I am sure the pics will be cool. I hope the sun comes with no humidity to help dry things up and kill the mildew.

Lets see. It is summer. The sun is up. It is Iowa and it is June. This all equals Heat and humidity. YEaahhhhh! Plus you add in all the recent rain and a very high water table and you have a nice new bumper crop of mosquitoes. I am sure they are enough to carry away a small child. biggrin.gif

On a lighter note I have over 300 experience on ROK solo woooot.

Nice on the ROK! You should post tips for others I have not had time yet to do much there.

Yup we just have black flies now. The mosquitoes got tired and when back to sleep.

I am on a seek and destroy mission of any standing water. I have paint. Funny how a film of paint on water kills them. smile.gif

A drop of bleach does the same and is easier on what lies beneath. I drop a cap full of bleach in my rain barrels weekly to stop the growth of critters (I have manure bags in the so I get lots of critters other wise).

I am wondering actually if they (Canada) sent them over our way because they sure aren't sleeping here! I love fishing but hate the mosquitoes! And those stupid black circle flies...URGHHHH!

They say listerine will kill flying insects as well. I would have to go check out the tip list I saw it on. Don't know if it is cheaper than paint or other options. I feel for you really--I actually despise those suckers *pun intended* laugh.gif!

I do not like them either. Avon Skin-so-soft lotion for some reason helps prevent those little vampires form biting. I think it helps my dry skin too. That is another option if you do not want to put other smelly things on yourself. Besides I have been told that SSS makes me smell nice. smile.gif

I know many use that product and it works for them. Me I just use rubbing alchahole I have oily skin so it is ok.

I think it is the smog that is chasing them up your way AlaskanLDS, but you can keep them free of charge.

deet is your friend sorry. I used to buy some stuff from an Indian friend smelt like bear poo but kept those bugs at bay but good. We were north of Kirkland Lake in may and walked though the bush with not a single bit it was great. My brother used to be a surveyor and I was cutting line for him good summer job.

Just hard to meet ladies when one had it one.
