Yes I guess the generations we see coming up nowadays want this all handed to them and not work for anything. I see kids today wanting to have the same benefits that someone who has been at the company for 15 -20 years are getting. I would love to see someone come into this job who actually wants to work and not just sit in a chair and collect a paycheck.
I believe that some students pass school because some of the teachers do not want them back in their class rooms again. I know that there are supposed to be checks and balances in place to keep children from falling behind or falling through the cracks but at times I just do not see them getting a good education.
I am working hard on getting my kids to understand that hard work is something they will have to do to be able to get spending money. I do not hand out free money for allowance. They have to earn it.
I know the 'no child left behind' rule is one of the greatest slaps in the face to those kids that actually are willing to work to make it ahead. Now we have lots of kids who know they will make it out of school in a reasonable time. Why try, right?
I would gladly offer your son a job in my area. The nice thing is I am a civil service worker and it is hard to get in this job but even harder to get fired.
I just found out that my wifes test results have told us that her cancer has come back. She has a rare form of cancer that usually kills the person in ten years or sooner. She was first diagnosed with this cancer in January of 2006. We had surgery for it that February and she under went twelve weeks of radiation treatment after that,. The past two years she has had regular Ct and MRIs to make sure they had it all and it was not re-occurring. SHe wants to continue to fight this and I am with her. We are now in the process of transferring her medical records to Iowa city University hospitals, part of the university of Iowa, and their research facility on cancers. We need to make a appointment with them to get a second opinion on the Chemo therapy that her doctor wants to do. We are lucky to have one of the two experts on rare cancers as her doctor the other one is in Iowa city that is why she wants us to go there for the second opinion.
