I don’t think a wall will keep determined people out of the US. People always find workarounds and gaps to do what they wish. I suspect that this is money that can do more good elsewhere.

Its always better to address the root of the problem rather than the cure. The root of this problem is the countries they are coming from not providing adequate enough resources for their own people. If we could partner with those countries and raise the standard of living then that will encourage more people to stay in their own country.

Doesn't the wall cost billions and only limits surface walkers? Why spend all that money when large caravans can make their way to the border and claim asylum?

Trump won't sign current bill to prevent shutdown. President Donald Trump will not sign the current Senate-passed funding measure that would avert a government shutdown, House Speaker Paul Ryan said Thursday.

What was once a deal to avoid a holiday government shutdown got torpedoed Thursday after conservatives and Trump unleashed fury that the agreement doesn't fully fund a long-promised border wall. Ref. CNN.

The wall by itself won't do much but men guarding a wall will. There will have to be a combination. But what about the parts where there are lakes or the sea which wall will they put there?

Trump misstated and exaggerated claims about immigration, drugs and funding to make his case for a border wall. In a televised speech from the Oval Office late Tuesday, President Donald Trump cast immigrants with a dark brush, listing off murders committed by undocumented immigrants without mentioning that immigrants actually have a lower crime rate than native-born Americans. He said drugs were pouring across the southern border without mentioning that the vast majority cross through ports of entry, not the vast stretches in between where he wants to erect his wall. Ref. CNN.
