Avemis the Wanderer - Page 2

Message to Advisor

This ends another consecutive month of my recent occupation. So far the work has been steady at the Town Hall rigging tack and harness for carriages. There seems to be no end, yet only limited hours of daylight. Most days I've been taking an extra shift pushing brooms after the markets close in order to make use of the waning light. I should think of purchasing an abode if I'm to remain in this Town for much longer. Given the money I've spent at the tavern, I likely could have made efforts sooner.

Finding a job

Perhaps towns and cities take time to acclimate to, or else, the weather of a location's economy rises and falls as the levers are turned, rather than those who drive the gears. Alas, as I found myself in this town for the first time, little place did I have but to find menial labor and bide my time in hopes of better fortune. As it now happens, perseverance has won the day and new work has become available for which I am better suited. Mayhaps this turn of fortune will provide for an abode, though I may miss the tavern cooking now as I've grown rather accustomed.

Why Am I Avemis?

I met a child on my travels who made mention of my aura. This is not the first time I've been told of the aura of free. I had no response for the girl; though, I shall endeavor to scrutinize this aspect in the future. Perhaps the nature of those who walk the realms are manifest in some way that is observable to certain others. I can only expect the meaning of the aura, as it pertains to me, to reflect some observable portion of my character that is unfettered. Is that of the law, for I've yet to commit any crimes that I am aware. Or is it possibly that I am unbound by those memories of my past, or yet even that I have no driven moral code? Reflection is required.
