Paul, Lia is feeling a little reckless. We have won major victories without much loss for our party. She thinks that we have this won and it is time to end it.

Daishain, it appears the group going to take a long rest. During that rest can Fay attune to the ring and still get the other benefits. I think I remember the answer being yes but I actually had to work a bit today and I don't have the PHB with me.

The answer would normally be yes, but you cannot get a long rest right now whether you attune or not. You can go to sleep if you like, it just won't count in that regard.
You can only benefit from a long rest once in a 24 hour period. I'm not a fan of being quite that restrictive, so I went ahead and let the group LR twice in a row (Last night and then early this morning), as it was both appropriate and needed.
