Okay, now I am confused. I was under the impression that the intersection was under 200 feet off, four rounds or so there and back. How the heck would the goblins have grabbed all the kids, freed the chained one and be gone in that time frame, much less without me hearing them screaming?

There are ways of learning other languages. You can study them and learn them slowly or as the mages at the Stronghold I am sure they can assist you with learning some languages.
