Green Bay Packers' fan Dawn Wilde creates a sign showing her support for Brett Favre as she waits outside the players lot at Lambeau Field Monday, Aug. 4, 2008 in Green Bay, Wis. Favre avoided the fans by coming in another entrance.

The bond between Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers appears to be broken beyond repair. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Tuesday evening that after approximately six hours of what he called "brutally honest" conversations with Favre over the past two days, the three-time MVP just isn't in the right mind-set to be part of the team.

I still think he should have taken the 20 million to sit down for ten years. I guess now we can start to speculate who he is going to be traded to.

It might have been a safe career move and set him financially for life. I guess ego is bigger then 2 million a year hope he does well where ever he ends up, as I am sure he will be traded sooner then later.

Give me the money and I would sit on a seat of nails for the entire time each and every game.

I hope that he does NOT go to the vikings. I think he is getting a little too old and the vikings as a young team need to rely on the upcoming stars like they did last year. Favre can go to the bears they need a QB there.

The Packers are going to do everything they can to make sure that Favre doesnt end up in their division. Rumour is that if they traded him to the Jets that the Jets were going to turn around and trade him to the Vikings, so the Packers are actually trying to watchout for that kind of situation as well. The best fit would be Tampa Bay as they could rid themselves of several mediocre QB's if they landed Favre.

This whole thing is totally ridiculous now. Favre has a case of wounded feelings, so the head coach doesnt think he is in the right mindset to lead the team. The team obviously tried to buy their way out of the mess with that 20 million deal to do something called marketing. Favre has enough money. He lives in Kiln MS and that is not exactly the high rent district of the US. The guy already has enough money for what he needs (boat and poles for fishing and a few guns and land for hunting). What were they thinking? And that whole crying scene at his retirement party, wow, that looks so much like a drama queen now. To top it off, he is now on a non-play related injury list. I can just see the follow up announcement to that one in the papers now:

Rather off topic, but...
Brett will be undergoing a Feelings MRI. Hurt feelings are pretty tricky. You need to know if they are simply strained feelings, in which case, a couple more weeks of rest and media spotlight might cure. OR...you need to know if the feelings are of the torn type. These are much more serious and may require a Tampa Bay type remedy to cure. Dr. Wavering will have the results by Friday and will surely be delivered by press conference. As a side note, Brett has complained that his tearducts have actually dried up, so there should be a good opportunity to buy shares of Visine in the immediate future.

I really cant figure out who is more at fault and with all the attention this has gotten, it is probably both of the parties. In my opinion, once he said he was really coming back and wanted to play the Packers needed to either welcome him back and announce him as starter or release him and say good luck with your future. There was no graceful way out of it. Now Farve looks like a drama queen and the Packers look like they are run by the Keystone Cops.

Looks like they got the promisses that they needed from the Jets that they werent going to trade him to a division rival. Brett Favre is a NY Jet.

Not really sure what this does for NY as they had QB Battle already going on with Pennington and Clemmens. It certainly ends the QB battle, but what do you do with the other 2? Also, not sure what the Packers got in the trade, but at least this highly televised drama is over.

I figured they would do all they could to get Favre out of the NFC and into the AFC so Greenbay would not have to worry about facing him many times if at all before a superbowl.

Any extras could be shipped to Toronto they always need help. Just doubt the paycheck would be enough.
