international QUOTE
If he wants to protect something, he would probably just shut up.

Not always. Sometimes talk helps channel a direction, puts your focus off what you should be considering. It's interesting that he's more vocal now than he was in the presidency though. Has any Vice President ever opened their own talk show? Could be a first.

Cheney Dick

Former President Clinton was pondering having a show of his own. However, this was shortly after he left office. Reagan would have been a natural at it had he not suffered from Alzheimers.

I hear you on the deflection, but that typically is done when you are already in the spotlight and it is getting in intense. We hadnt heard much from Chaney for a while (quite vocal after Obama took office for the first few months)...until this recent burst of commentary, so I have trouble understanding why he would have to play wag the dog.

I hope that he is able to recover once again from this latest heart attack. I do however think his time left on earth is getting real short.

Why Was Cheney in Saudi Arabia?:

Dick Cheney just went on a junket to meet with Saudi Arabian leaders, a quiet pow-wow that's been discussed in the Saudi media but not so much over here. Cheney-who's been busy defending torture and complaining that Barack Obama lets world leaders "think they're dealing with a weak president"-weakened the president by visiting a leading torture regime and its caliph, King Abdullah.
