BRIDGETOWN, Barbados: Following numerous requests from governments in at least six Eastern Caribbean countries, a major study on the sexual abuse of children is being undertaken, not only for the sake of children, but to also understand the perceptions and behaviours of the general public.

More of these studies need to be done, but once they ARE done, what then? Incest is a big problem here. Abuse is not only a problem in the Caribbean it is a standard: beating children at school, at home and even in public.
