Wolf's Bait - Page 7

The Game Master says...

You fire back arrows and the archers once again withdraw.

Thomas picks up Kalfie thus making himself vulnerable. You all make a decision to return to the Village, but based on your location within the South, being on foot, and with such a load to carry you wonder if you will make it. The walk may take you two days and give the Bandits chance to regain strength. Additionally you look at Kalfie and he is not likely to make it passed the day with his current wounds.

Wanderer looks at Thomas with wonderment at his expectations for Kalfie. She looks at the cave and says,

"Ye come here for to turn back now? They friend be good as dead"

GM: Say if you wish to continue your return to the Village or if you wish to do something else.

Bait Wolfs

The Game Master says...

You lay Kalfie at the side of the mountain and bind his wounds as best you can. You take his gold and weapons which encumbers you more.

You make your way South a bit and then see an obvious trail on the right leading to a cave opening above. You carefully watch for archers as you make your way up the trail and oddly enough you do not see any confrontation or guards as you might have expected. Have they disappeared, gone invisible or laying in wait you wonder to yourself. Just then from your ascended position you can see some movement of the Bandits from where you once were below. They are moving the body of Kalfie. You can see them greedily taking off the rest of his belongings as his life is most assuredly finished.

GM: Kalfie is dead.

The situation becomes more nervous as you meet the cave opening.

The cave seems to be small about 20' in depth and you do not see anything within via the light of the day but you cannot be sure as you are merely on the outside looking in.

Wanderer exclaims her displeasure at the current circumstances using words that come from the pits of hell.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

You carefully enter the cave. It is a circular cave with no visible exits other than the one you came through. You do not see anything apparent. You can tell it has been trafficked but when last you do not know.

The Game Master says...

Thomas looks at the light tracks in the small cave. They are not readily apparent because it is mostly a hard rocky surface but from what you can see from the dust there are boot prints going straight in and straight out.

You then feel the surface looking for some kind of clue about the cave but nothing is apparent. You wish you had a thief among you who may know more of these things.

You then turn to Wanderer. Not knowing her skills you ask what she thinks. She looks at a few things curiously, they are rocks that have been placed in an odd position. She then sees something and says,

"Ah the cloaked men think they have also cloaked this..."

She points to a formation and then pushes with a bit of effort. Then with a bit of a rumble which can be loudly heard much to your displeasure... A small gap opens to the darkness beyond in the middle of the cave.

Wanderer happy with her find gives a sly grin to Thomas at his inability to find her treasure and says,

"Gold be mine..."

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

The Game Master says...

You enter the dark space and light up a tunnel that goes on into a circular cave room with a continuing tunnel on the other side. There is a faint odor in the air as though something is rotten in the area but you do not see anything apparent.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.

Wolf's Bait

The Game Master says...

You carefully follow the left wall going around the circumference of the dark jagged cave. The smell fades and comes back, so you feel it my be coming from deeper within the cave. At the other end you see the cave goes on further and then splits into three.

GM: You are represented by the red dot. Say what you wish to do now.

Wolf's Bait - Page 7

The Game Master says...

You go up a bit and peer arround the entrances and also ahead.

Ahead goes straight to the West and into the darkness.

The tunnel to the South gives off a faint aroma of garlic, possibly it leads to a cave room.

The tunnel to the North possibly enters into another cave room but unless you go further in you cannot tell any details.

GM: Next Post I will be keeping to two days or moving ahead to keep things running faster. Say what you will do now.

The Game Master says...

Carefully following the tunnel to the South (left) you are greeted with a stronger aroma of garlic and it is now apparent why. You are in some sort of ration storage room. You can see lengths of garlic hanging from various spikes and wooden shelves. There are pots, cooking utensils, large biscuits, cheese and dried meat from which you can get about 20 full rations.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
