Tena, I am so glad you didn't *bite the dust*. Your pants can be replaced ~ eventually ~ but you can't! You didn't burn yourself did you?? Be sure to get your back checked pronto - either by a Dr. or Chiropractor. A good massage wouldn't hurt either. biggrin.gif Take Care of You! Arna

Tena, I'm glad you're okay...I'm afraid of 'bikes'. Do you take the bike at work? doesn't all your clothes get wrinkles and stuff?.

O.K. Now, I am really sore! I probably shouldn't say anything, but I dropped my bike today at a stop light and fell. I was on my way home from work. It was a completely bonehead move on my part and I feel so stupid. Well, actually, I am too sore to feel stupid, but I was stupid. rolleyes.gif

I was at a light on hill. I realized I still had the choke on. Instead of putting it in neutral and then taking my hand off the clutch to push the choke in (it is on the side of the bike that the clutch is on), I was being lazy. So I took my hand off of the front brake, didn't have my foot on the rear brake, reached across the bike, leaned over to push in the choke. Since I was on a hill, the bike started to roll back. In the process it also started to lean to the right. Well once the bike started to fall over, I couldn't stop it. I am not strong enough. So, I just made sure to get my feet (and the rest of me too)out of the way so the bike wouldn't land on top of me. This caused me to ride the bike to the ground so to speak. So, I landed hard. The good news is there is absolutely no damage to the bike at all! laugh.gif

As for me, no permanent damage. I am sure I am bruised though. My body, at my age, wasn't meant to fall 2 1/2 - 3 feet to the ground on black top. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it really is when it is a free fall. The good news is I was wearing my leather jacket because it was a bit cool this morning on the way to work. Also, I had jeans on because we had a special jeans casual day at work. So, no scrapes. Just bruises.

After I fell, I couldn't pick the bike up either. The cars at the light behind me when I fell, just all drove around me. How rude! A guy on the other side pulled over and asked if I needed help. Forget pride, I was grateful he stopped. He picked the bike up like it was nothing. I drove home and am now moaning because I am so sore! cry.gif

Now, I really am fine and wasn't in any danger at any point, so no lectures. I fell while sitting still! How stupid is that!!!

Sorry to hear about the crash and too bad you had to wait for someone to come and help you out! I am not a motorcycle rider but I can relate because my buddies ride bicycles with the special foot pedals where you lock your feet into it. They have told me similar stories about basically stopping at a light or stop sign and literally falling over because they couldnt get out of the pedals fast enough. Anyway, hope youre not too sore tongue.gif

Yeah, it would be just like that too. You just go over with the bike. Bang, you hit the ground. Fortunately my feet weren't strapped into anything because it the bike landed on my ankle it would probably break it. The bike weighs 415 pounds without fluids.

I am fine though. Just feeling like an idiot!

laugh.gif JB, you are faaarrrrr toooooo young to be my father! I wasn't even driving when this happened. I was sitting still and did something stupid so I lost balance. No danger, just hurt pride, etc. I must admit, I am beginning to wonder though. Too such incidents in two weeks. I never have this sort of thing happen generally.

Tena the idea of 'fatherly tone' is to suggest and impress on your mind how I am saying it - as a father would - in other words concern but tough as the next time it could be your death *knock on wood*.
