Introduction Funbikerchick

Well, I am thinking of retiring, but not any time soon! Unless you know some wealthy LDS guy looking for a wife. biggrin.gif

The plan for my life always was to work until 50. My ex and I had discussed it frequently. His child support would be over and his son through college. We would live for a few years on his income while banking mine, then I would either get a part time job or quit altogether at 50. Obviously, that isn't going to happen now. Still, when I do retire (probably around 80 laugh.gif ), I want to retire in a warm climate.

The trouble with wealthy guys is they hang out at places only wealthy women can afford. My home teacher says I should join the local Country Club. He says to be sure to pick an expensive exclusive one. He says I could call it an investment...I wonder if the IRS would allow me to write it off my taxes...Farseer????

Introduction Funbikerchick

Unfortunately, most expenses incurred whilst searching for a husband are not tax-deductible. laugh.gif Wouldn't that be a kick? Now, when you pay for a charitable golf tournament, that's tax deductible; and I hear there are lots of well-to-do fellas there (of course, many are already married). And there are quite a number of fundraising events where the money you pay for dinner is considered a charitable donation and is, therefore, tax deductible. Lots of wealthy types there (also lots of married guys...). But the dress you buy for the event would not be a tax write-off. So, there are some things you can deduct, but I don't think the country club dues would count.

Hey, I'm giving myself ideas! What a concept!

Tenaheff, I am glad to know that despite the busy season you are able to come and post. I like your spice in here and hope those servers of yours keep their back-ups in correct order and time so that you can come more often.

By the way, thanks for being the first in Cozyville RPG, it is good to have a player and beta tester at the same time wink.gif

Funbikerchick Introduction - Page 29

I have had a bit more time to post the past few days because the college student who has worked with me these past few years is on Christmas break and helping me. I am on vacation next week for a few days so that might help as well. However, after Christmas, it is going to get busy again.

We are putting in a new phone system. Our "go live" date is Tuesday, January 5. I need to get all the phones placed before then. In addition, this new phone system requires software to be installed on each PC. Installing the phone, installing the software and configuring it takes between 10 and 20 minutes per person. I have about 110 to do...

Also, I am looking for a new house. I really can't afford to stay in the one I currently own. I met with a realtor (also a friend). He convinced me not to sell my house, but to take some of the equity and use it to purchase another. Then rent the one in which I am currently living out to pay that mortgage while I pay the new mortgage. This is a scary prospect, but if I do it, the potential for financial gain later, at retirement time, is pretty good. I need to do something to prepare for the day I retire...social security won't be enough...I have nothing set aside at this point. My divorce really messed up my retirement plans. To do this, I must leave the community I am living in and move someplace else. That is a bit scary. I am not sure I really want to do this, but I believe it is what I am being led to do. I will visit the Temple next week. I hope to get some comfort/inspiration regarding this issue then.

With my limited knowledge of your situation - a move actually sounds like a good idea and the investment may be very wise too.
