It was an hour before someone finally came on the line. At least she was very pleasant once I got her on the phone. I am not convinced the situation is straightened out, but at least this woman was friendly and made me feel good! smile.gif

Introduction Funbikerchick

Oh my goodness, Tena! 28 inches of snow! I fully remember the blizzard of '78. I was 9 then living in Ohio and everyone on the block kept taking turns having 'blizzard of '78' parties at their homes. I didn't have school for weeks, and I remember doing school work via radio broadcasts of varying subjects, and then having to go to another school for a while I think because it did so much damage to my home school. Are you prepared? Do you have a good vehicle to attempt to get out once all the snow has fallen? I almost have forgotten how pretty snow can look, though. How are the temps? Well, good luck, I hope everyone stays safe.

So far everything is fine here in my home. The snow is still falling, but it is the light fluffy stuff so it isn't too bad. My son drove less than a mile and turned around to come back home. A cop told him go home or get a ticket. Massachusetts is under a state of emergency. The National Guard has been activated to help get people to shelters if needed, etc.

It really is very pretty outside right now, I must admit! However, I much prefer the summer.

Tena, sorry to hear about the weather over there. When I lived in Baltimore I could not understand why the schools were always close once it started falling a little snow...the same with Church services being canceled...I mean it was not bad at all, just started snowing and the I heard in the news that everything was going to close. Pretty weird. I am not sure how serious it is where you and Malexander are, but it seems like you all are really in a very bad weather. I hope it improves soon. :)You can take a little trip to Trinidad one of these days wink.gif

I know what you mean about Baltimore and the snow. I lived in Southern Maryland and Northern Virginia for a while. They can't deal with the snow there. If it was snowing when you woke up, there would be no school...even if there was just a light dusting!

What we are experiencing here is much different today. There are places nearby already reporting up to 32" of snow.

Glad to hear you are okay where you are, Miz Tenaheff! I heard the news report and you were the first thought that popped into my mind! As they say, "hunker down" till it blows over. smile.gif

How's this for tough luck...my snowblower is now broken. It won't start. Started fine yesterday morning and ran fine. I turned it off. Tried to start it later to clear the rest of the snow and it wouldn't start. It sounds like it isn't getting any gas. I wonder if the pepcock might be broken. It turns, but maybe the inside broke in the closed position. If it isn't bad enough that it broke in the middle of such a huge storm, we are expecting another 2-4 inches Wednesday. I hope I can get it repaired quickly, but I doubt it will be that quickly!!!

That is sure unlucky to have the snowblower go out at such a time, when you are experiencing one of the biggest storms ever in that region! Hopefully you can get it fixed otherwise it looks like you're going to have to reach for the good ole' shovel. Where's a smiley of someone shoveling snow when I need one. biggrin.gif
