My parents always had a snowblower that worked, and a dishwasher that worked. Somehow, it was always me that was the snow blower! You still diggin out of that snowy wonderland?

Introduction Funbikerchick

I gave up. I have about 1 1/2" in my driveway overall and on the walkways. Also, some piles in the driveway are still 2 feet high. I can get in and out, which is all that matters for now. Of course, we are now expecting Wednesday's storm to dump 4-8 inches rather than the 2 - 4 originally predicted. I will definately have to shovel that since the snowblower hasn't been fixed yet. cry.gif

They taught me that in boot camp in Marine Corps...honest!

So that's why you are 'G I Jane.' I'm sure I would have learned that if I had read through your thread. The rave threads are soo long, and I have read a couple, but still have everyone else's to read. That's a lot of reading. smile.gif I hope the weather is getting at least a bit better and that you are getting around fine. By the way, that was interesting information on the handshake thread, thanks for including it. If it is already in your thread, I will get to it, but if not, can you tell me a bit about what it's like living where you are?

Well, right now, living here is cold and snowy! We got another 8 to 10 inches yesterday of the white, fluffy stuff. The snow banks are 4 and 5 feet high at the ends of streets and driveways. It makes it hard to pull out into traffic because you can't see. I am getting a lot of use of my 4x4 feature though, so there is some good in that. Last winter, I hardly used it. I had a 4x4 a while ago too, and for the entire time I owned it we had mild winters. I didn't mind, but as soon as I got rid of it for a car, we started getting snowy winters again. Then I bought the truck and we had a mild winter (in terms of snow, not temperature) last year too. Side streets are still snow covered, so I can still use the 4x4 feature...

In the summers, it is hot and humid.

The springs are nice and autumn is beautiful. No place is more beautiful than New England in the fall. Of course, New England right after a snow fall, before the snow gets dirty, is pretty too.

I earned the title GI Jane while participating in a thread here about women in the military. You should check that thread out.

Thanks for sharing all that information. I went looking for that thread, like you suggested, and WOW! I haven't thought too hard about that topic before and I learned a lot from reading it. I am sure you got a big laugh out of my reply to the thread 'This user reminds me of...'. I sure don't know as much as I think I might and I still have a lot to learn about everyone here. Anyway, very eye-opening topic that was good for me to read. If anyone else wants to read it, here is the link:

Anyway, I actually am violent by nature, especially if I feel threatened so you wouldn't need to worry about me trying to nurture the enemy.  In fact, most women would defend to the death those they love.

Oooh, while I agree with you on the last part, I hope I never make you angry. laugh.gif Just kidding. Now I understand where you got the G I Jane from. You are very good at explaining your thoughts and reasoning behind them.

Dawn

P.S. It sounds like the weather there is somewhat similar to what I grew up with in Ohio. Humid summer, bleah!

Funbikerchick Introduction

I was just out driving to a meeting I had at the Church building and was paying special attention to the size of the snow banks. It turns out I way under estimated their size they are more like 6 - 7 feet high. In fact, one of the cross streets of my street has a bank so high the top of the street sign barely sticks out!

Gotta love it here, otherwise why be here!

I hadn't read it, but just did. I don't spend a lot of time on the jokes board. You really took some time to give us all special consideration. You have me pegged too, to it would seem. I don't know about Ms. Walters, but I am actually a softy underneath. Just as long as my back isn't pinned against a wall so to speak... laugh.gif

Congratulations on the birth of your first child, Tena! laugh.gif How exciting for you, and your house looks great. (RPG in Cozyville) What I don't understand is why before you were happy, depressed, and concerned, and now you are depressed, depressed, and concerned! Poor thing! I find that almost poetic that you went from happy to depressed just by having a child, what an analogy. :laughs: Well, it must be due to extra stress. Those snow banks sound huge, good thing you've got that 4x4 to get around in. Yesterday, I found the forum garage and noticed your motorcycle, it sounds nice. You are one rockin' chick! wink.gif Yes, I had a lot of fun yesterday on the jokes board, and that particular thread was fun to do. I knew that you were a softie all along, but you balance that well with your other traits. Have fun in the snow!

I haven't had the child yet. I am hoping having the child will help me not be depressed any more. Otherwise I would have preferred to keep my character single. My understanding is the way the program works, you are happier with a family so that is why I plan to have one. I am going to be pregnant until I get enough FP without hitting the bank to pay for the baby though.

Is that just a nice way of saying "you hide it well?" laugh.gif
