NBA - BasketBall - Page 5

Suns are 22-3 which is one of the best starts in NBA History. They have to keep winning for a while though to catch the Bulls. I think the year they won 70 games they were 41-3 at one point. The long season may begin to take its toll on the Suns who give their starters a lot of minutes. Looking forward to the Christmas day match up of Kobe and Shaq. Should be a good game.

I admit I haven't been watching a whole lot of NBA basketball this season, but there was one game I had marked on my calendar that I wanted to watch. This would be the Heat-Lakers game on Christmas Day with Shaq returning to LA and facing Kobe and the Lakers. Now I may not even get my Christmas wish as Shaq has conveniently come down with a calf injury that may force him to miss the game on Saturday. I say this sarcastically as he has done this before, most notably when he left the Orlando Magic to go to LA. His status is uncertain at this point so I may yet get to see this much anticipated showdown.

He will no doubt go into the hall of fame because of his great career. He did have 3 shots at an NBA ring (2 with Utah, one with Lakers) and is the second highest scorer in NBA history. His style of basketball was coveted by many, as he was the epitome of a true 'power' forward. His exercise regimen was one of the strictest in the league. His duo with John Stockton will also go down as one of the best ever in the history of the game.

EDITORIAL: SANITY COMES TO THE NBA

Apparently the National Basketball Association is not only beginning to see the light, but has seen the writing on the wall. With viewership down as much as 30 percent for this year's NBA Finals, with professional hockey self-destructing faster than a Mission Impossible tape and the last NBA lock-out debacle still fresh on everyone's mind, the players and team owners have cowboyed up to sign an agreement that actually features provisions that border on sanity.

My Knicks today signed Larry Brown as the new head coach, just 5 days after separating from the Detroit Pistons. I hope he can work his magic with less talent, and produce results like he did with Detroit. Go Knicks!

And as I understood, they also payed him the biggest salary for a coach. (If the papers here are accurate). He should do a good job.
