Aliana gets close enough to see the hobgoblin is building a barricade across the road. She remains motionless and watches a little bit longer. Watching further she notices four or five other hobgoblins building a camp. Knowing this is too much for her and Lukas she eases away and works back slowly to where she left Lukas.
Aliana grits her teeth as she hears branches shifting and breaking under her feet. She wasn't very familiar with moving through woods. Inching from tree to tree she works towards where Lukas should be. She calls his name in just above a whisper and she sees his head appear from behind a tree. Motioning for him to follow she begins working back the way they came from the town. She whispers to Lukas of what she had seen. " we need to camp for the night but I don't want to be anywhere near here. What do you think? Camp here or travel tonight?"
Out of Character: : rolls are made which can be used for travel or camping if they stay nearby.
Lukas whispers in return, "T-traveling at night might be just as dangerous as camping near that group. Perhaps we can. Um, what is the saying, split the difference? We c-could travel until a few hours after dark and then find a campsite well off the road. I-if you think that is still too close, I would not be adverse to skipping camp this evening." Before continuing on Zork will ask them for directions to the next kingdom mostly for his own knowledge for the next time. He then heads south.
Out of Character: Same camp routine.
Aliana looks at Lukas with a frown on her face as she is mentally debating the issue. " That's a good idea Lukas. Let's split the difference as you said. It is too dangerous to travel all night. By traveling for an hour or two we should be safe enough to camp at that point. Let's go. Rudy and I can take first watch again when we get there. " She grins and begins moving as quietly as she can in cover back towards the town. Aliana will look for a good campsite a little bit off the road after the first hour or so.
Lukas contemplates recent events as the sun begins to creep over the horizon. As little as they actually accomplished, the past few days have been quite interesting. Most people he meets are dull almost beyond comprehension. Something does seem to be… off about the young woman, a certain coldness in those pretty eyes perhaps, but she still displays considerably more gumption than most that humanity has to offer. Continuing to work with her may be both profitable and a welcome change of pace, or it might not, time alone would tell.
Gently nudging Aliana to wakefulness, he wordlessly begins breaking down the camp, preparing to continue the journey back to town.
Aliana groans as Lukas nudges her awake. It felt like she had just laid down. She lies there for a moment watching Lukas break down the camp behind lidded eyes. Deciding that she needs to get up she groggily stands and stretches. Her back ached a little this morning. It was past time to get back to town and sleep in a bed. She yawns and walks over to assist Lukas. " We survived another night in the wild surprisingly enough." She grins at this this. They finish breaking down the camp and start walking back towards the town.
