Spike Lee works on MJ documentary
Spike Lee worked with Michael Jackson and considered him a friend, but the director says even he learned a lot combing through footage of the icon for a planned documentary about the singer's Bad album. Lee calls it a ''treasure chest of findings.'' ''We have footage in this documentary that no one's ever seen, stuff that Michael shot himself, behind-the-scenes stuff,'' he said in an interview Monday. ''We had complete access to the vaults of Michael Jackson. ... He wrote 60 demos for the Bad record. Only 11 made it. So we got to hear a lot of that stuff, too, so it was just a great experience.'' He added: ''You don't have to be a Michael Jackson-head to enjoy this.'' Lee's documentary will be part of a flood of material to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Bad album, Jackson's follow-up to Thriller that included hits like the title track, Smooth Criminal, The Way You Make Me Feel and more. A judge today appointed TJ Jackson, the 34-year-old son of Tito Jackson, as temporary guardian of Michael Jackson's three children in the absence of their grandmother Katherine Jackson.
"We have reason to believe that Mrs. Jackson has been held against her will," Katherine Jackson attorney Sandra Ribera told Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Mitchell Beckloff at a hearing.
Beckloff suspended Katherine Jackson as custodian for Prince, Paris and Blanket, because she may be "prevented from acting as a guardian because of the acts of third parties." Ref. CNN
Jackson family feud continues
Michael Jackson's mother apparently returned home to the late pop singer's three children, after a judge temporarily took away her guardianship because of her dayslong absence during a family feud over Jackson's estate. Granddaughter Paris Jackson tweeted early Thursday morning (local time): ''grandma's here!'' Katherine Jackson's son Marlon also posted a note on Twitter saying his mother had returned, adding she looked and sounded great. Katherine Jackson told ABC News that the court ruling taking away her guardianship was ''based on a bunch of lies.'' The family fighting was revealed Sunday after a relative reported Katherine Jackson missing, but she was later located safely with other family members in Arizona. Ref. Source 5
