A pro-environment advocacy group is calling on local governments in Metro Manila to follow the lead of the Muntinlupa City government and ban the use of plastic bags, styrofoam and styrophor materials.
The EcoWaste Coalition commended the Muntinlupa City government for enacting an ordinance that aims to reduce materials that contribute to the so-called “white pollution.”
The coalition is a public network of more than 85 non-government, community, academic, private and religious organizations campaigning for the elimination of hazardous wastes in the country.
