Right now "long days" is the operative word |
Both my boys were delivered by emergency C-section. Most U.S. hospitals do everything in their power to save the lives of both the mother and baby, but the baby's life comes first.
My 2nd C-section was especially scary... Colin was about a week late and got less active over the course of 2 days. I called the hospital and they urged us to come in immediately. During the pre-op exam it was discovered he was breech. A C-section was definitely needed. The scary part was that I had become dangerously pre-ecclampsic. The OBs were worried that I would bleed out on the table. My husband didn't tell me until some time later that there was an emergency surgical team waiting in the next OR in case I crashed.
Our Higher Power was surely protecting me and Colin that day, and I am forever grateful.
