I am not in the US, but for me this is a slap in the face of all those who would like to LEGALLY go to the US and study but can't. It is only further incentive for more illegals to feel justified in their stay.

DREAM Act History & Civil Business Politics

Sometimes I wonder if we are in some kind of dream circle where these politicians are the dream specialists because such acts are as a puzzle to me as sheep jumping over a fence at night. For the life of me can we stop encouraging illegal immigrants from being so comfortable here?

Latino students face barriers to higher education

Despite his determination and auspicious beginning, Lopez will have to beat the odds to graduate from college. Lopez is an undocumented immigrant. His scholarship only covers his first semester's tuition, which means for every semester thereafter, he will need to come up with $3,000. Without papers, he will have trouble finding a job to pay for the next three-and-a-half years. Ref. Source 6

One of the things I never understood about illegal immigrants was their ability to get scholarships, I mean actual money to study and yet not be here legally.

Are deportation concerns driving away students?

Community colleges are reporting a big drop in financial-aid applications from undocumented immigrants, and officials blame heightened deportation fears. Undocumented students receiving Cal Grant awards under the Dream Act fell from 4,624 to 1,781 Ref. Source 8g.

We have American citizens who can't get money for college and there are states that have money set aside for illegal aliens? Are you kidding me? It's time we took care of our citizens first. I am amazed that this isn't a bigger story. One of the things President Trump alluded to in his speech the other day is so true, we need to take care of ourselves first.

I agree I see so many students who can not afford to go to college so they get jobs and work their butts off so they can afford to take a class here and there to try to get ahead. But if you are a illegal alien here you can get a grant and go to college get a free room and get free meals and not have to worry about pay anything back. I think this is a huge injustice to our countries youth.
