NBI agents arrest ex-Cebu sports exec

CEBU CITY – The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) 7 has arrested former Cebu City Sports Commission Chairman Jonathan Guardo for alleged malversation of public funds in connection with the 2005 Southeast Asian Games.

Guardo, who ran but lost to congressman-elect Tomas Osmeña in the May 10 elections, was arrested late Thursday afternoon by NBI 7 elements who were armed with a warrant of arrest issued by a Regional Trial Court in Manila.
