engineers are working round-the-clock to firm up plans to send astronauts on
two emergency spacewalks outside the International Space Station to repair a
serious cooling system failure.

Repairs Station Space Vital Plan Scrambling NASA
Well if they get too hot just open a window I am sure the nice vast cold of space will cool them down quickly. 
I think the air system in the space station is a vital part and if we can not keep it running well then we are not ready for interstellar travel.
