[Medieval] In Search of Gold! - Page 2

The Game Master says...

A man named Excavon runs up to the party and says, "Do you guys know where the tavern is?  I need to get out of the hail quickly."

Liete says, "We are gonna head ther ourselves, follow us."

Leirsgrios says to Eneyla, "Help me help Omega, his ankles most likely still hurt.  C'mon, lets get to the tavern."

The party heads to the tavern in haste, Leirsgrios and Eneyla help Omega get there. At your usual table you gather along with other people that seek shelter from the hail. The hail is not very powerful, but it would have stung had you remained outside. After awhile heavy showers come and everyone starts to settle down. You can see that everyone is using this as an excuse to have an early drinbk of ale.

You now look at your new 'friend' to find out more about him and your upcoming plans.

GM: Plan your next move.

The Game Master says...

A man named Seether walks up to the party and introduces himself.  He says, "I'm sorry to bother you but I heard someone say adventure.  I am looking for a crowd to join.  Could you use my services?"

Leirsgrios says, "Sure, why not.  The more the merrier."

The party then discuss long and hard of what they should next do.  The decide that they do not have enough money and need to find a way to earn some.

Omega and Kitana think that with their skills as a Magician and a Jester they could put on a good show at the tavern.  They walk up to the Patron and Kitana says, "Hello, we are looking for jobs for a few days.  Would you be interested in hiring a Magician and a Jester to entertain your crowds?"  Omega cuts in and says, "Yes, the longer people stay.  The more they drink.  The more they drink, the more money you make.  What do ya say?  We can put on a good show, especially with this weather, all the people coming in will stay even longer."

The bar man looks at you with one brow raised and then opens his eye lids in an excited look and says, "Sure!"

You get excited by this, but then he adds,

"However, I cannot afford to pay you, you can earn whatever anyone is willing to give."

Eneyla and Liete decide that they should just rest for the week.  Take it easy while the others earn a few coins.

Excavon and Seether came up with an idea of making a wagon. Excavon is a skilled wood worker while Seether can help him out with various metal parts needed because he is a blacksmith.  They check if they are skilled enough to carry out this task, but then realize that skills without materials and tools is not worthwhile and may cost more than purchasing a wagon outright.

Leirsgrios feels a need to earn some money.  He asks around the tavern to see if anyone will offer him manual labor job for a week.  He is strong enough that doing labor for someone won't be that bad and it would be an easy way to make cash.

No one knows of anything really, but they wish you the best of luck. The bar man looks at you curiously trying to solicit in his business, you notice by the expression on his face that he is not too excited about it.

GM: Say what you will do now, including what the jester and magician wil do exactly as entertainment. Remember you have no 'tools of the trade'.

[Medieval] In Search of Gold! RPG PBP Medieval World

The Game Master says...

As you look around the bar you notice that many in the Village waste time on ale and laughter and run their lives to ruin or boredom. You cannot become part of this, from an early age you yearned for the outter lands, to explore, to venture as a hero... At times you often remember the words of your mother...

"Nothing accomplished, nothing gained"

You see where you are becoming the practical example of this...

GM: Waste no more time, there are places to explore and gold to get!

In the Village Bar...

There is a lack of loyalty to Leirsgri and so a vote takes place. A new leader is called in Liete and she begins to take mantle. Leirsgri is not sure he likes being led by a woman, but stays quiet nevertheless.

Kitana decides that they need to obtain some gold, she comes up with the idea to tell jokes then do some acrobatics if she can. She starts off with her jokes hoping that those within enjoy. Her first line is a success! She continues and helps to get everyone lively. The show is impressive and she manages to muster up a gold piece.

Omega decides he will be performing various forms of close-up magic with bewildering illusions, but the people in the Village are not too fond of magic and he is looked on with suspicion. After doing his first trick he decides to sit down remembering to not demonstrate his tricks in the Village.

Chapolin moves around the people to see whom he can pickpocket. Most are concentrated on the little show put on by Kitana. Chapolin tries... he places his hand in the apron of a small man that is turned away from him only slightly. It is a risk since there is no movements. Chapolin's hand moves slowly and then...

"What ye be doing ya thief!"

Everyone stops watching the show. The man is angry and watches Chapolin with one eye open bigger than the other. He has caught the hand of Chapolin almost going into the apron. Chapolin is shocked at his own stupidity for being caught. Enelya and Leirsgri try to come to Chapolin's aid, but what can they do or say at this moment? The people in the bar shout,

"Away with him, away with him!

Enelya and Leirsgri create a quick diversion that allows Chapolin to get out of the bar, the people follow after him. Being that it is daylight it will be easy to track him! Luckily the hail has stopped and it is only now raining lightly, out goes the thief, here comes the big crowd of people now angry that there was a scoundrel among them, they continue to yell, curse and shout for the guards.

The rest of the group is unsure if to follow or not.

At the same time Liete, Excavon, and Seeth return from the market place after seeking out how much it would cost to rent a wagon. They learnt that there really is no such thing as 'renting' in the Village, but you can buy or haggle. They are surprised by all the comotion that their new compadre has already caused.

Omega thinks for a moment and wonders the effectiveness of drawing so much negative attention to the party.

GM: Say what you will do now. It may be wise to read over what kind of place the Village is in the sticky threads, this will guide you on how your character should react and act in the Village. Since an action now requires your input the rest of party order was ignored, if you wish to continue to Mr. Smith anyway you will need to repost it in party order.

The Game Master says...

Chapolin heads off into the Village looking for quick escape routes he is already familiar with. A small crowd tries to follow after but they do not give it much enthusiasm since nothing was lost.

Two guards come running and make their way searching within the vicinity. You do over hear the man Chapolin tried to rob explain in general terms what Chapolin looks like, clothes, etc.

After awhile the crowd dies and returns to the bar or other parts of the Village. You know now that Chapolin will be a 'wanted' person. Based on common sense relations on the Streets of the Village everyone knows that when you cannot find something you go to the market, it is there that you find Chapolin once again with hood and guise so as to not be noticed. Liete is not pleased with such cat and mouse games and wonders if scolding would be appropriate, then again, who can trust a thief.

GM: Say what you will do now.

[Medieval] In Search of Gold!

The Game Master says...

Seeing no possible way of raising enough gold for supplies you decide to venture towards Mr. Smith's farm to speak with Mr. Smith concerning a loan of his horse and wagon. Mr. Smith says, "Sure, no need to pay, just have em back in a week now you hear?"

Excitedly you return to the market place with a sturdy horse, small wagon and enthusiasm to move forward. By that time, Seeth has already decided to leave the party thinking that they seem to be too much trouble to handle.

Kitana buys one ration. Leirsgri tries to sell some clothes that he has, but no one is interested, he does purchase 6 rations though. Liete buys 3 sacks of oats. Omega gets 3 rations. Excavon buys two water skins and a cloak. Seeth watches on, he feels unworthy to continue, you question his reason for feeling so, but mumbles something about a religious belief he has about it not being the 'time' for him to go. You shrug it off as you watch him head home. Enelya buys her rations trying not to bother with Seeth, who seems otherwise fanatical about his beliefs.

With most everything you need within your wagon and your horse ready to go, you only begin to ask yourself... what next?

GM: Say what you will do now. It is about 2:00pm

The Game Master says...

Not wanting to be burdened by unnecessary equipment the group decides to leave some of their equipment home. They also use the wagon to carry items not readily needed for battle. Omega know the wagon will be his best friend on this trip and has no intentions of walking.

On the way...

You have a late start and the night comes quickly. You decide it best to camp the night out and start fresh in the morning. During the night you are able to view the surrounding country under a bright moon, it is unusually peaceful, no wolves, you guess that it must be some special area or that the wolves in this part have been made extinct. The night passes without event. Leirsgri and Liete wakes everyone up for the new day.

You follow what you believe to be the exact directions of the map and to your astonishment you find a great tree of enormous size that is just to the right of a cave opening. The interesting thing is that you would not have seen this had you not been specifically looking for it. You now decide to make a plan for entry after surveying the area...

The area is forested, no signs of active life. There are birds in the sky and the day is bright. You feel hungry.

GM: From here on out you must be very specific about what each person will do as well as how they enter the cave (1st, 2nd, etc.). One wrong move can mean death. It is likely that the cave may have only enough room for one person to walk at a time.
