[Medieval] Scenario II, 'The Scroll' - Page 3

The Game Master says...

Zenobia says to Loric,

"I will take a horse sir, but my friend does not wish to have one"

Loric rolss his eyes and then makes the usual calculations in the sky.... he then looks at Zenobia,

"60 gold pieces that will be in two weeks then"

Loric then becons his assistant to give the horse to Zenobia. The young assisteant does as he is told and brings a lovely riding horse with saddle and bridle for Zenobia. The horse looks healthy and strong, you can see it was well taken care of.

Lupus looks at Zenobia's new 'treasure' with wanting eyes, but rathers to keep his money in his pocket and walk.

Before they leave, Zenobia walks over to Loric and says in a soft voice,

"Please, don't tell Greaves that we are only two in this adventure, ...who knows, in my way back we could get together and go out sometime."

Zenobia then winks at him with a soft smile on her face. Lupus has a smirk obn his face at the brief 'affair'. Loric raises one eyebrow and stretches his neck in such a fashion as to say, I do not not mix with your types, he then says,

"Adventure? What adventure? See here, just have my money for me in two weeks, that is all I am concerned with."

Loric then turns around and gets back to what he was doing. Zenobia quickly turns her head from him in disgust at the lack of interest in her suggestion. She gets on her horse after adjusting the saddle and beckons to Lupus to begin following.

Lupus follows behind and starts wondering about his feet being able to withstand the journey. He rests assured in his new leather boots seeing him through.

You start travelling south, passing through another part of the woods so that you do not pass by Greaves' home. The day is good for the journey, however you are very hungry. You do not see anyone in particular during your journey out of the Village, at least no one that looks like they would want to adventure.

GM: It is now 1:00pm, you are finally out of the Village and heading South. Your movement is slow due to Lupus having to walk. Zenobia is able to see much further ahead being on a horse, but feels slowed by Lupus. Say what you wish to do now.

Scroll The II Scenario Medieval

The Game Master says...

Lupus reluctantly gets on the horse, his pride eats away at him.  He grumbles to his limited abilities at this point. Zenobia looks at him with an eye of ridicule, but says nothing.

You journey once again, but it is more difficult for the horse and so you do not move as fast as you would normally had each person a horse. You stop a long the way for water. It is evening time and because of your non-stop movement you make up a good amount of time and effort. At one point you dismount and walk to give rest to the horse whois exhausted from the long ride. The horse constantly pushes its head by your sack for food. Zenobia takes out a dry ration and gives the horse from her hand, he eats happily. (Zenobia -1 dry ration) You each also nibble at one ration that Zenobia shares with Lupus. (Zenobia -1 dry ration). You are now near the mountain shown on the map. It is dark, you wonder if you should make a camp and wait til daylight or keep moving.

GM: It is now 7:00pm. Decide what you will do. Some probable theings you can do, make camp and where? Keep moving and how? If you keep moving you will need to make light and maybe detected. If you make camp it will be the same. Decide all what you will do and how you will do it. At this point your decisions will mean life or death for your character.

[Medieval] Scenario II, 'The Scroll' RPG PBP Medieval World

The Game Master says...

You hear the sound of wolves in the distance as you fight to make up your minds what to do. Time seems ever more, but the more you waste it the easier a target you become. You decide to make haste.

It is now 7:15pm. Decide what you will do.

Page 3 Scroll The II Scenario Medieval

The Game Master says...

You decide to keep moving towards the mountains. The wolves' howls sound less as you ride. Luckily for you the moon is bright tonight and it lights your way so that you do not have to use a torch, but it also aids others in seeing your approach. Lupus nervously looks around for any signs of predators, wolves and the like.

You eventually get to a mountain, it is stoney and rough. There are no trees or grass on the mountain, it is rocky and unwelcoming. It is steep, but not so much so that you cannot walk up it. You would have to get off your horse. You notice that on the face of the mountain there is two interesting paths. The paths are not cut into the mountain, it is more instict that lets you know that the rocks and pebbles have been brushed to one side from constant travel that lead from the base of the mountain going into certain peaks. There are two such paths that you notice. One leads to what seems to be an opening in the mountain, possibly a cave and the other leads to a part of the mountain you cannot see from your current position.

It is now 8:00pm. Decide what you will do now.

Scroll The II Scenario Medieval

The Game Master says...

Having reviewed the area as well as you can under night time conditions you recognize the first cave as looking like this:

[img]https://www.bordeglobal.com/board/medieval/cave1.jpg[/img]

Zenobia feels only she can make most of the decisions in this adventure as Lupus is nonresponsive, his soul and intellect being not much help. Zenobia feels that the cave you need to find would not be seen so easily so you decide to look for another option. You both get off the horse as the mountain is somewhat steep. Zenobia holds the horse's bridle to keep it close by. You go up the side of the mountain following what seems to be a sketchy path. It brings you to a part of the mountain that enables you to see the cave pictured below, but you can no longer see the first cave. The area is rocky. You are about 100 feet away from cave #2 and you can see a faded light in the distance coming from within the cave so you know that there is 'life' there. Your horse is very tired and starts to make some faint noises and pulling, it wants to be set free to rest you figure, but you are not sure.

[Medieval] Scenario II, 'The Scroll'

The Game Master says...

You do nothing at the moment but wait and watch. In cave #2 you notice the faded light flickers, this probably representing a torch on a wall or held by someone. It is not easy to see within because of he narrow way the entrance is cut. The horse will definitely not be able to enter the cave and you will have to ponder what you will do with him. You feel the longer you stay doing nothing the more likely someone or somehing will see you (if they already haven't). Zenobia becomes aggravated by Lupus' lack of support and decides to be even more dictorial on what will happen from now on.

[Medieval] Scenario II 'The Scroll' - Page 3

The Game Master says...

Zenobia looks around for a rock that can hold the reign of her horse. She walks carefully over to a small bolder and ties the horse's bridle to it. She then makes her way to where Lupus is waiting and motions for him to prepare his weapons. Lupus makes ready his dagger and uses his cloak for cover. Zenobia has her long sword in hand and approaches the cave with Lupus following just behind. At the entrance to the cave you see that the light is stronger but you cannot see directly into anything, but the stone of the mountain, as it sways to the left. Zenobia goes closer to the entrance using the bolder to brace her back. She raises her hand and with index finger covering her lips motions to Lupus to be silent. She peers around to the left and sees that the cave then sways to the right. Zenobia realises that she will have to enter and follow the cave if she is to see what the light source is, however she can hear laughter from humans. It seems to be several of them. From the faint tones she can tell they are in a jolly mood, but she is not sure why. Lupus' heart thumps as he hears the many voices. Zenobia wonders if she and Lupus can take on whatever is inside. Lupus is scared (low soul), but he wonders if there is a way to not make their numbers count.

[Medieval] Scenario II 'The Scroll' World Medieval PBP RPG - Page 3

The Game Master says...

Zenobia makes a plan to go in the cave with Lupus and create some kind of shadow using the light from within so that it can surprise whomever is inside to follow them into a trap outside the cave. Lupus frowns a bit at it, but has himself no better idea.

Zenobia moves in first with light steps, her hand with one sword and the other feeling the rocky mountain walls of the cave's entrance. Lupus watches with great anticipation following from behind and occasionally looking behind him.

You sway to the left and then only slightly to the right just enough to see around the cave's corner... Zenobia sees an open area of the cave that makes an oval shape. It is abot 20 feet square and 12 feet from the floor to the ceiling. Within are 4 men around a table seated, they are unarmed and playing some sort of game. There are 2 more standing up talking to the right of the table, they are armed, but not holding any weapons. None of the men you see know of your presence, but at the same time you do not know if there are more of them. These men look like bandits or fighters. In the back of the room are two torches on the wall. You realize that you will not be able to cast a shadow because of where the location of the light source is in the cave's room. As you look at the light source you notice there is a corridor leading off into two directions behind it, but it is not very clear to where they lead from your perspective.

GM: Say what you wish to do now.
