There are also a number of RPGs revolving around Vampires and others of their Kindred. My son used to be quite heavily involved in one in particular. I couldn't believe that they are so heavily attended/participated in and how detailed they are. Very scary for kids to be so deeply involved in what amounts to a cult.
In my opinion, of course.

Some of this involvement though is really just done as entertainment. No different that what we do in Medieval here on this site. And a lot of the interest on watching on television again is for the sake of entertainment only.
What I don't understand is those people who take it beyond that and actually drink blood! That is just gross, if you ask me.
What makes me wonder, is why would they want to live forever? I certainly don't want to live forever, and from what I've seen most of those vampire type people wallow in depression. That doesn't sound like the kind of existance that you would want to prolong.
And I agree on the drinking blood, that's really gross.
I'm afraid that I'll have to agree with Roz. Vampire centered role-playing games are really scary! I've been involved in a number of role playing games and a few friends of mine have joined Live Action Vampire role playing games, that is just pushing it too much for me. Paper and pencil vampire games are bad enough, we don't need to take it live-action!!!
I like vampires a lot. They are so mysterious. Yet I really can't understand why anyone of this time would want to live like one. I mean, isn't it a faery tale to believe in immortality? I mean, we haven't even seen real vampires yet. The only things we know about them is what we've read and seen in movies. And who knows how much of that is all made up. I am not saying that I believe in vampires, I just can't image their lives, if they ever did exist, being so dramatic. Killing virgins, luring people into their shacks..No, sorry... I guess I'm to old for that now...
That is Prreeeety wierd but yeah, they can believe in what they believe in. As long as it does'nt go too far. Like burning people, drinking LIVE peoples blood, etc. I just hope these guys dont wander too far off the path of reality, if they do they will probably become pshycho and stuff. Then we would have to put em' in Mental Hospitals .

Do I believe that Vampires exist? No I don't, that said I love Vampire stories. I used to watch Dark Shadows as a kid in the 60s and 70s and I loved the book Dracula. I now will devour any Anne Rice novel I can lay my hands on. I love the romance of it all and I have always loved the idea of immortality. Still, I do not believe that true Vampires exist. I have a question for you all, if real Vampires did exist, ones like Anne Rice's Lestat, would you want to be one? My answer is yes and no. I would love to live forever, to be able to see the future, but I would hate to have to consume blood to do that.
I'm a major vampire fan. Vampirism interested me so much I looked into it, i found alot of information, it explains it pretty well.
A vampire is a vampire whether you are blood, or psi.
A real vampire is a person or thing, which lacks to maintain energy. And they need to replenish that energy every so often. They do this by means of feeding on a host, victim, or donor. Whatever you may call it, it's the same thing. They are taking energy from something and transferring it into themselves.
Psi vampires can manipulate the energy in a person, and direct that energy from that person into himself or herself. Therefore ridding them of the need to create a wound in their donors and drinking of their blood
Most of the information I got from www.slad.net just incase it interests you.
